Default Possible problem with my ka Rs Turbo!!!

hey

the cvh in my ka runs fine, idles at 800-900 when warm jus over 1000 when cold!

i have a slight concern with regards the coolant system, i have a grs alloy rad fitted ( whihc should help the engine run a bit cooler i ve been told they run at 92 degrees in the fez's), if i leave the car idle it takes around 40-50minutes for the fan to come on( its using the cvh fan switch like the fez's and escorts), how ever when i drive it seems to be on constantly even when driving slowly 60mph in 5th!

also the top rad hose going to the thermostat housing is soft on idle but after i ve driven it its very hard all the other pipes seem soft but very hot!
my heaters work fine hot and cold air etc!

i ve changed the thermostat for a cool running item 82 or 85 degrees iirc!

i ve checked the coolants pipes are all correct, i havent had a temp gauge in the car it was disconnected for paint, i ve connected it back up will see what its running at tomorrow!

but if the fan is on shorely the engine is runnign over 100degrees as the fez fan switch is 102 ( i think)?

do you reckon i have air lock some where? or possible head gasket problem ? thermostat was chnaged 20 miles ago and it made no difference the syetm still rpessurised, there is no mayoniase in the oil filler cap, dosent use any coolant, runs fine! but it bugs me as the fan is on randomly i associate the fan running as eninge running warm, it shouldnt be as my mates ka runs 90 ish degrees on a standrad ka 1.3 rad, i have a grs item 250% larger core so should at least run at 90

any ideas?

is this normal

Have a leak down test done firstly that will tell you if there is any leakage from the cylinders, if the test comes out as being ok i would just keep an eye on it.

If its not using any coolant/oil and isn't smoking or anything like that then i wouldnt of thought there would be anything wrong.
