i have a 2wd saph and when driveing it on sunday it kept trying to cut out on me, and then clearing up agian .
it did this a few times then died altogether.
me and a few mates tryed the basics,
dizzy cap ( cleaned and inspected for cracks)
rotor arm
plugs (which where replaced for new ones)
cleaned all sensors

all of these things turned out to be ok
the car will only now run on 2 cylinders number 2 and 3 not running at all
there is fuel and spark to all 4 1 and 4 running fine
cam timing is spot on but the dizzy pully is off its mark
and my own stupid fault when removing my cam belt cover i lost one of the nuts from the top , think it went down in the pully but never found it anywhere
the car is on greys and does run a bit ritch but have never had a problem starting any help will be greatly appreciated

 

Have you tested the plug leads?

 

leads plugs and all sensors are working fine been told it couls very well be the map sensor

 

have you changed the dizzy and rota? they might look ok but could be knackered,had the same problem with my 4x4.

 

i sorted it it did turn out to be the map sensor whish it was dizzy and rotor they dont cost 95 pound not happy

 

how much 3 bars are only Ł60 new and I'm sure some one of here could have sold you a 2 bar if your cars standard/stage1 for alot less!

 

60 pound where from a1 rally sport pts and burton ( i only said pts coz iam from the same place they are from) all said 95 pound

cant be went ther yesturday and was 76.22 plus vat and that came out at 89.56 that was with a 10% discount
