Default Non Starting Erst S2 please help

Hi Guys n Gals

I'm having a few problems with my S2. it's been running fine and yesterday went to start it and it just turns over. there is spark and fuel, changed the dizzy cap and rotor arm yesterday, it's got about 3/4 fuel, new spark plugs and ht leads. it seems like it wants to start but there is something just holding it back. really frustrating as it was running so well.

Please help

Thanks in Advance

Matt

Does the engine turn over at normal speed or slowly? CVH's suffer from lazy starter motors

If you have no spark or fuel, i would bet you a jam tart the sensor in the distributor body has failed.

Does the pump prime when you switch the ignition on?

No mate the pump doesn't prime when switched to ignition but you can here it if you stop crankingit over. will this be the pump? the fuel pump relay is new. is the sensor on the dizzy the black on on top of it?

This is an unusual fault then. If the pump runs while you are cranking the dizzy is ok. The lack of priming is usually a faulty relay, which makes it even stranger.

It is strange, going to get a fuel pump ordered later today. might call the aa out to it got home start, just to see if they can get it going or even just find the fault?

DON'T buy a pump you are wasting your money at this stage i can tell you that much.......

You would do better to find the cause of losing the spark first, fuck the priming for now thats by no means critical.

Check the sensor in the dizzy, check the coil, etc
