Default 3 door ....poor running ????????????

I tried to run my cossie up today, just to warm it through as its laid up at the moment but it is missing really badly. It starts ok but you have to use the throttle to keep it running and it smells very rich and fumey, any ideas ??????

plugs if I had to guess - but check:

* if dump valve, remove vacumn hose and plug it while running and see if it improves
* spray carb cleaner around hose connections/intercooler to see if the engine revs up
* remove Idle Control valve, clean with towel and reinsert
* pull out spark plug and check how sooty it is - change if necessary

I am having the same problem as well, I think it could well be the blue coolant sensor at the back of the head causing the engine to overfuel when cold and foul the plugs.

I,ve found it. It was a bared wire coming out of the MAP sensor plug rubbing on the earth strap It,s nearly ruined my Christmas and Nearly caused a divorce ( It kept popping out to garage to try different things and the mrs was getting a bit ) Thanks to all those who made suggestions ,Gaz
