Just run on a RR and have 149BHP at 6130rpm at wheels.
Setup is 2l silvertop Zetec, 90mm trumpets, Jenvey 45mm throttle bodies, blue injectors, Kent sport cams, Scholar gass flowed head, St/St 4:1 to Technocraft can. MBE ECU 3D mapped by SBD. Soft limit at 7100rpm, hard limit at 7250rpm. I believe this should be running 200~210BHP at the flywheel, if this assumption is correct I am losing the best part of 40BHP and can't see where.
Checks so far: fuel supply ok, new filter, rail pressure tested ok. Compression test all 187psi+/-3, new plugs, new HT leads. Plug colour looks fine so no sign of one cylinder down (I thought it might be an injector). Valve timing was slightly out (3 and 4 degrees) so vernier pulleys fitted and now spot on but now the engine hits a brick wall at 6500rpm (under WOT acc'n). There does seem to be alot of electrical noise (picked up by the lambda sensor on the RR and on the MBE data logger). Ign timing not checked with a strobe but appears correct on data logger.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of my lost horses, or in the direction of a Zetec guru I can visit in the Dorset region.
Thanks
John

It was sold to me as a reputed 208BHP (but no hard evidence). I'd like views as to whether 208BHP is realistic with the spec I've got, given it is a silver top.
I've tried searching the site but couldn't find any material that gave power/torque estimates versus mod states.

208bhp is realistic for that spec yeah. id get it on the rollers and have a play with the cams. the factory figures from kent or whatever are a guide, not the perfect setting for every different engine they may be used on.

I spent a hour yesterday playing with valve timing - recording results on a GTech Pro ie power runs from 2000 to 7000rpm on a suitable test track.
I only tried +/- 6deg either side of the recommended 110/110, seems the recommended setting is the best all round result but 104/116 gave a boost to the bottom end at the expense of top end. The variations don't seem enough to warrant another visit to the RR.
Does anyone have a fueling and ingition timing map, I'd be interested to compare with what I currently have.
Any views on gains to be expected going from fast road to rally cam (I found a site which suggested fast road was +18BHP and rally +22BHP - I'd have guessed nearer +12BHP, +18BHP).
