Default How to change brakes

Im having a bit of trouble changing my ford escort front brake pads. B4 i started i found that i needed an allan key to take the old ones off. But to my dislike it was one it seems to be a special one.
Can anyone help on this and if it is a special key where do i get 1 from...

i cant see where you are based inthe uk....but any car spares shop should have one of these? I am amazed halfords don't do a 7mm allen key! try getting an allen key that attaches to a ratchet handle....... failing that cant you just undo the two 19mm bolts and take the whole caliper off? also just out of interest what year escort is it?

good luck and remember to cover the back of the pads in anti seize copper stuff
