petrol in my diesel
put petrol in my diesel the other night drained the tank put 30l diesel in and it drove fine the problem is it dont like starting and its getting worse any ideas of what i could try first

being in the mechanics line of work I see that problem every day mate you will have to change the glow plugs oil basic service really then start it and let it idle for 45 mins that normally does it.

I did the same thing and just drained out as you have, put in 1 litre of HYDRAULIC OIL and use this will then be fine.
The jack oil will cause a lot of carbon to form, this is what it loses due to petrol being burnt.
I definitely would noit change glow plugs though, try it and see, I have never needed to, although I suppose if they were a little knackered to start with this could have killed them off
