This is an easy job, 1 hour at most.
Remove old cable, remove lower fascia, if you have two people even better, remove rubber gaiter around cable at gearbox and slide onto new cable, PUT CABLE THROUGH EYE IN LEVER, SECURE WITH TAPE TO PREVENT IT COMING OUT, push new cable through bulkhead to pedal.
LIFT PEDAL UP GENTLY AGAINST STOP AND YOU WILL FIND THAT THE AUTO RATCHET LETS GO AND GOES ALL LIMP, THEM WITH YOUR THUMB PUSH RATCHET FULLY FORWARDS TOWARDS BULKHEAD, INSERT CABLE, LET GO OF RATHET, PUMP PEDAL A FEW TIMES.
The hardest bit is refitting the rubber boot around cable as it has a sprung meatal tab inside to expand..
ps I have just remembered you said 4wd, I hope it is the same as my 2wd.
