erst s2 help me keep her cool
hello i have a s2 which has a grs full front intercooler, twin kenlow fans and a 82 thermostat. the proplem is my water temp will get really high when sitting in traffic.(when giving it some beans)
so my mod for this weekend is to fit a switch to manually control the fans and flush the cooling system out.
how do i fit the switch. what amp wire do i need?? and where do i run the wires to and connect them to?
and was there not a kit you could buy to do this?? i think i may have seen it in fastford/perfomance

i had same prob,
i know alot of people are going to repy t this ansd say dont do it,
take ya fan temp plug off engine and cut plug off, join wires together, and ha presto, u got cooling fans when ever ya ignition is switched on,
some people are now going to reply sayin engine wont reach optimum temp,
all i can say in my experiance is it worked for me, ran better and stoped blowing head gaskets

Right, the best way you can ever do this..........
Firstly, remove the fan plug, switch the ignition on, and test for which wire has 12v. Once you have located it, on the OTHER wire, you need to run ONE wire back to inside the car, connect it to one side of your switch, and run a wire from the other side of the switch to any earth point.
JOB DONE! The fan will still operate as normal and turn off with ignition, and you can over-ride at any time.
The principal behind it is the fan swtich switches the earth, and all you are doing is putting a switch in the car that connects to earth.
The wire needs to be rated at about 30 amps to match the fuse rating
