Hi all, after having a good blast in my cossie on friday, went to start it the next morning and there was a noise coming from the turbo. It sounded like a dry bearing (?) Took the intake hose off and there wass no oil coming through. After 5 mins the noise went away as the engine warmed up. Do you think i have knakered me turbo up??? thanks for any help.

You shouldn't be able to seen any oil coming through as the bearing has seals to prevent that. Is there any play side to side or front to back?

 

No mate, shaft dosent move. Just the noise.

 

Does it spin freely? Twizz it round and see how free it is.

 

When i took the hose off, started car to see if the blades were catchin the sides but spun ok, no catching. soon as car warms up noise goes and dosent come back until engine is cold. Doing me head in!!!!
