Default Cosworth engine mapping

i might be asking a bit of a daft question but what is the name of the software that is used to live map a cossie?

i know its a very lucrative business and nobody wants to share their information and secrets but i dont seem to be able to find out any information about it!

everybody that i have spoken to says that you have to just play with mapping your own engine to learn what does what, and in the process you have to blow it up a few times to find out the ranges of the tunning. i was looking at gettin it just to see what it can do and what settings you can play with. and if i get brave well i dont kniow what i will do with it.

so if any of you can help me along with my search and point me in the direction of getting a copy then it will be greatly appreciated. thanks to you in advance

Andy

The software my tuner uses is 30k and has anual updates IIRC. Don't have a name for it though. Once you have bought the software, you need an emulator and an eeprom/eprom writer.

It would be cheaper to buy aftermarket management and fit it to your car and learn that way...

If you are interested in DIY mapping then look at this site for hardware
http://www.moates.net/
and this site for software
http://tunerpro.markmansur.com/

Be prepared for a long slog though as I suspect you'll be writing your own definition file for the ecu.

it's not easy, and without spending some money it's never going to be.

i had my L8 ecu converted by RP Labs so that I can connect it to any pc via a normal serial cable

R & B Motorsports (Mike Rainbird) will be selling this product in the UK soon. For some information, see the website http://rptune.eu.org/ or contact R & B Motorsport.

whereabouts are you? maybe you could come to the Berkshire group meeting and have a demonstration?
