Default Noise on 4x4 Saff

When i am booting it a bit and change 2nd to 3rd as i change gear and let the clutch out i get a strange noise which i cant describe, seems to come from around the turbo area or that side of the engine bay, its not a gearbox or clutch sort of noise, and doesn't always do it, occasionally also when changing 3rd to 4th, seems to be more when changing quickly, any ideas guys ?
Does not seem to effect driving and pulls strongly through all gears ( usual stage 3 set up) and always ok when changing 1st to 2nd and 4th to 5th
its annoying more than anything but i dont want it to develop into a problem, any help much apreciated, thanks.

Hi,
Had a quick look at the turbo (T34) have a bit of play in the shaft in all directions, not excessive but it does move, could this be anything to do with it, or the butterfly valve perhaps ?
I dont particularly get a lot of smoke, a bit of grey smoke perhaps when i floor it but not oily, anyone think turbo is poorly or is this ok (only 18monts old from Turbo technics)
Thanks

No, the only way i could possibly decribe it would be like a deepish ggggrrrrr ! sounds like mechanical or metalic or maybe air, i know thats vague but cant think of any other way to describe it
like i said only when lifting the clutch after gear change.

front and rear prop or even diff possibly?? sorry cant help any further

regarding the turbo as long as the shaft movement side to side ISN'T allowing the blades to hit the hsing then should be ok it's in and out movement that causes the probs well 9 out of 10 times!

No the blades dont touch the housing and no back/fwd movement so that puts my mind at rest a little, cheers for the replies mate.
