Default FIA Cut-Off switch help needed!

Hi all, urgent help required here!

I'm fitting an FIA-approved 6 pole cut-off switch to a competition car, and I'm unsure how it is intended to be fitted. I realise the battery cable is connected inline with the large bolt-on terminals, as these will be interrupted when the switch is activated. However it is the 4 terminals on the rear of the switch that are confusing me here.

There are two pairs of blade terminals on the bottom, marked in pairs (1 and 2). The first pair (1) is normally open (open circuit) when the main switch key is closed, and when the switch is opened (to cut-out the engine) these then become closed (short circuit). The second pair of terminals is permenantly open circuit.

I realise that the purpose of the 4 terminals on the bottom is to interrupt the feed to the coil and dump excess current through a resistor (which i dont have), can anyone tell me how this is meant to be achieved as I'm worried my switch may be a dud...

Thanks all,

Roy

Fixed! Big screwdriver, some contact cleaner and a couple of nice self-tappers saves the day!
