Hi, i'm a relative new to the cosworth scene, and a bit confused.
As far as i'm aware that originally sierra/saph use a T4 or T3 turbo, and the escort a T25 and T35 turbo. So where do the T3/4 T34 and T28 come into this picture? Because these are the turbo's people are talking about.

As far as i believe;

3 door/ 2wd & 4wd saff all use the T3

Escort big turbo - T34
Escort Small Turbo - T28

Only the RS500 had a T4 as standard

T35 and T34 are the same turbo. Some people just use different names. There is 3 different housings for the T34/35 (.48 .55 .63)

2wd T3 had a 50 trip compressor inlet and 4wd had a 60 trim. Im not sure about any others.

 

All 2wds = T3 50 trim with .48

4wd safs = T3 60trim with .48

Escort Cos Marelli = T34.63 rear.

Escort Cos Ford = T28.
