Does anyone know if i can use the 90 spec tank from a xr3i - What i want to do is use a 89 turbo loom with fuel gauge etc on dash but want to retain the 90 spec tank with has the feul pump on the inside - is there anything i need to know with regards to wiring being different - have a complete 90 spec loom & 89 spec turbo loom plus both tanks & all fuel lines etc...

Any help appreciated .....

 

The plugs are different for the intank senders obviously because the tank is internal. And also they have extra wiring for the inertia switch.

Theres nothing to stop you modifiying the wiring on the turbo loom (simple to do) but the XR3i pump in the tank won't be up to the job. I personally think you would do better to retain your external pump......

 

Ah - THANKS FOR THAT - is was just a idea - oh well have to buy a new tank then 89 one as the original is a bit ropey.

 

Can't you find a good second hand one? Same as XR3i
