cossie petrol tank

Hi i've had to take my petrol tank off my 2wd saff to be repaired,is the long pipe with a cup like end on it a breather? can't remember where it goes hoping someone can help me out

Yeah it is

Pretty sure it goes on the small pipe on the top of the tank,somewhere near the fuel gauge sender hole
