Drop the tank out then with a hammer and flatblade screwdriver tap the securing plate anti clockwise then extract the pump About 1 and half hours in & out.

I dont know it for fact, but apparently the turbo ones have a higher flow rate and have "turbo" stamped on them?

I could tell you, but i think you should have to break a few like i did learning how to do it

No pushy type things on the side then?? As you look at the end theres 2 little cut outs around the pipe yeah?

Right, try and leave the sender in the tank if u can, if not put it between your legs (!!!! )

Get 2 small screw drivers and push them in the gaps on the clip, and gently push back, it should push the clip in and slide it back off the pipe

Don't try and push the clips and pull the pipe, it doesn't work aswell

The white plastic clip needs to be broken to be able to take it off.

lol..

just break it off mate makes it easy to take off the pipe and fit back on.

Most of the fuel line clips do not have the plastic cover anyway.

LOL, they a bit too fiddly for ya

I had to break the one off my cabriolet though.........

Only because there was no little notches at all though Makes no difference i suppose but theres more chance or mositure getting in and rusting the pipe over many years

IMO removing the saftey clip, then pushing the pipeclip against the plastic is the easiest way.

OK! SO no need to be sticking your tounge out!

Hmmmmmmm i know that feeling The more you do it the easier it gets. Just when i thought i had it down to a fine art, my cabriolet sprung a leak on the pipe going to main fuel line so i jacked it up thinkin this'll be easy and there was no notches to stick anything in Had no option but to pry the cap off then

Glad you sorted it Has the pump got turbo stamped on it out of interest?

The old pump had a sticker with TURBO wrote on it, this xr2i one has nothing, i can tell the difference tho as the car is definantly slower, i just dont fancy going thru all that again to put a turbo one back in

Ah ok i knew it was something along the lines of having turbo on it.

Oh dear..........i didn't realise u had fitted the N/A pump in there after i said they are different, i wouldn't get boosting it too much if i were you.........if you plan to keep the car you will HAVE to fit the proper pump
