Right, i've come across both, now i cant 100% remember the order, but im certain the ones without the ring are from 1.3/1.4/1.6 CVH, and the ones with the ring i have seen on a 1.8 CVH, to be honest, if you compare the two there is no difference in the rockers, i think its probably just a different press or something, all that hole does is allow oil flow and its only where it touches the valve anyway. Shouldn't make a difference, i'm noticing the ones with the ring have come out of what would be appear to be a very abused engine however.......

Thanks for that. Would the one with the ring be better then? Its not been abused as far as i know (which aint much) its just that it was in a box of bits and covered in dust, grit dog hairs etc which I'm going through and sorting.

Cheers
Dave

I have no idea, they sit at an angle which opposes where the hole is anyway so i wouldnt of thought either/or is really going to make any difference. I was talking about the colour of the oil on it and the thick sludge, looks like it hasn't had its oil changed regularly which CVH's don't like too much

That would explain why the engine was goosed then. Change my oil every couple of thousand miles if I can.

Some people would rather buy something shiney for their car than service it.
