Default Running Flat

I have just had my head gasket replace on my 97 escort si 1800 it has kent cams fitted, power boost valve, k&N air filter and a magnex exhaust, the problem is though when I try putting my foot down and get to around 3500 rpm there is nothing there where as before you could feel the kent cams kicking in please can anyone advise me on this.

The garage that fitted the head gasket is not a performance garage as I could only get my car towed to a local garage (Barrow-in-Furness) so they dont set up high lift cams.

does it still pull right the way through t the redline, but just not as good as previous??? if so, i'd say they probably haven't timed the cams up right, especially if they skimmed the head and just used some marks on the pulleys. Does it have verniers?? Can't remember on those engines now if they are keyed or a tapered fit. But that would bemy first port of call.

It still pulls right through the redline but not half as good, not sure if they skimmed the head they didnt say, yes it does have verniers does this mean getting these re-timed?

Cheers
