GETTING REALY STUCK NOW ON HOW TO TIME UP MY ZVH HAVENT GOT A LOWER CAM BELT COVER CANT GET ONE TO FIT SO NO MARKS TO GO OFF IS THER ENY OTHER WAY I CAN TIME IT UP CHEERS ROB

only way i would think is to get the engine on top dead centre and mark the front pulley.tipex is good and then make a pointer and bolt it on the block. can use abit of welding wire or coat hanger.again bolt it to the block. hope this helps

There's a good casting in the sump if you look underneith, to use as a marker point. Get number 1 to tdc using a dial gauge...you'll find a dwell period of around 10degrees where the piston is on the edge of going up and then back down...true tdc in between these points. Then put a small cut /notch in the crank pulley aligned up to the casting in the sump (as you look at the pulley square on, the casting is around the 4 o'clock area...has been a few yrs since I last set up a zvh tho, but its around that side)
