yeah firstly seal the windscreen rubber as they do leak.
But mostly as said, check fuse box area and battery tray, they just rot like fook and let water in, the state of my mates one once was quite scary.

As said the usual is the battery tray fuse box and windscreen, but don't over look the sunroof tray (drainage channels down A,B, & C pillars)blocked drainage holes in the doors, and even a leaky boot, not un-common for the rear lights to leak and fill the spare wheel well up and then it overflows and runs forward onto the carpet.

cheers for the advice fellas,iv had the battery out numerous times an to be honest its mint, but still you never know wat lurks underneath,iv not checked the fusebox yet,as for the boot i did have a leak from the back lights cos i put the smoked ones on but cured it with silicone,iv also checked sunroof drainage which appears to be ok, how do i know if its the heater matrix? another thing is this only started on its return from the bodyshop????

if its just back from bodyshop, was it getting painted?

i would suggest looking at the door seals, obviously would have been removed for a respray, have they gone back in properly? maybe too worn and wont seal properly.

If i were you i know its a lot of hassle but i'd just strip the carpet etc out and blast the thing with a pressure washer and you'll soon see whats leaking.
