I had a 3 hours discussion today with my Ford Dealer about the T5 Gearbox Oil

Workshop gives Ford Spec: SQM-2C9010-A however FordEkat application says this Oil Spec was replaced by FINIS 5014519 and that is Ford Spec: ESP-M2C166-H

Is this correct???

 

I DONT know the numbers but USE Dextron 2 which is usually a red automatic transmission oil!

 

When i replaced mine with the red transmission stuff, i was expecting to refill with 2.6 litres (workshop manual detail), however i brely managed to get over 2 litres back in before it was overflowing.
Is this normal or have i done something wrong ???
I used bottom drain plug, and relilled using the plug above on the same side (drivers side).

Hi I replaced the gearbox on my 2wd saff at Christmas. I brought 3 litres of the Ford red oil (automatic transmission fluid). From empty I used just under 3 litres, but have since drained it and refilled it using the drain and fill plug you have mentioned and it took a lot less to fill. This is probably as the drain plug isn’t low enough to completely empty the box. Hope this helps.

 

I had to lower the car in a strange position to get it all out. After that I have used around 2.6 liters.
