Default verry low geared transit 125t350

does anyone know if there is a higher ratio diff available for an 04 transit
i can only get between 20 and 23 mpg with it.
when its doing 65mph its doing about 3000 revs, and fully loaded it will pull 35mph in 5th easily.
is there any thing i can do with this as it is costing a fortune in diesel.
does anyone know is there a diff you can buy which is higher geared that will fit?
i know the new transit uses a 6 speed box but i would imagine that will cost a lot to change.

im a van driver mate and i get way more than that and mine is a 53 reg with 100k on the clock, and thats a luton knocking on 3.5 tonnes so something sounds very wrong with your van or you have a very bad driving habit, even when im ragging mine i still get way more than 25mpg!!!

ive got a brandnew transit 135/t350 and it will only do 300 miles on a tank

and it takes 70 litres

so its only doing 22 miles per 5 litres and thats mostly on motorways!

mind u i aint fussed cos i dont pay for the diesel , goes rapid though !
