On my Puma I am looking to upgrade the engine management system And have been thinking of omex 600 series or pectel T2.
The question I have is that in a year or so I plan to swap the engine to zetec turbo or maybe even cossie power (not yet decided!!) so is there an engine management system that i can fit that will be compatable with forced induction and an engine swap??
I'm thinking by fitting the upgraded management I can solve any potential wiring nightmares later when I engine swap and effectively just reprogram new ECU for the new engine.
I realise I may need to get an overspecced ECU and loom to save upgrading later (including longer wires in loom for the planned new engine).
The ultimate simplistic aim is to have an aftermarket dash and ECU controlling the engine and all dials, completely electrically seperate from the auxilliary loom (lights wipers etc althougth ignition live auxilliary circuits will need a feed to make the relays). My thinking being that it has to be a better solution than trying to combine a newer ford loom to an older ford loom and with the obvious problems that may cause..

I presume somthing like pectel, omex or megasquirt would be mapable my most decent tuners or would I be stuck with one??
I still haven't made my mind up on the engine yet.
My brain says zetec turbo as I can build that in stages, run it fwd for a while then 4wd it using mondeo 4x4 gear or RS2000 4x4 gear (if I can get it!).
But my heart says cosworth 4wd...........
What a choice to make???
I was indecisive once, but now I'm not sure!!!

There was a 4x4 fiesta running mondeo gear a while back with 300bhp and no problems.
The mondeo transfer box is much stronger than the rs2000 due to the viscous coupling in the rs2000 being a bit of a weak point if not scrupulously maintained.
I'd agree that cossie bits are so much stronger though!!
Transverse 4wd does not need as much fabrication around the bulkhead area and tunnel in my car.
