Default ISCV

The iscv on my 4x4 cossie doesn't work. Changed it for a new one and it still won't work, wiring is ok but it doesn't seem to get enough power but once i put 12v to it, it then works ok. Anyone know how i can sort this?.
Checked power to the plug and it's getting 6.5v

How do u know it's not working on the car? The easiest way to check this is when it's cold, disconnect the IDSV and it should run like shit, then plug it back in and see if there's a difference, it could be something else i.e a temp sensor????? I don't know if you have done this already but i had a similar problem that turned out to be somrthing else. I don't know what the correct input voltage is, but if 6.5V is not correct then the ecu or whatever is obvioulsy sending some different signals for a reason. i.e a sensor from elsewhere.

When i unplug it does nothing. Idle from cold is shit, when you switch on the ignition i thought it was meant to click but it does nothing either

You should have 12v on the IDSV,the other end is an earth signal from the ecu.I will take a look the wiring diagram next monday and check from were the supply is taken.

makes no difference when i plug it in at all and yeah it's a brand new one. i've had a look at the wiring diagram and it comes from the ECU into a relay

I'm offshore at the moment so i can't have a look justnow but it sounds like the problem is elsewhere if it's not recieving the correct voltage, as something is obviously telling it to do that, but my best guess is a temp sensor or something along those lines. Sorry for the vague response, i'll have a look for you when i get back in the middle of the week if you don't get it sorted by then.

ok cheers mate. i don't think it's the temp sensor as i thought the ISCV is supposed to stop your car idling low even when the twin fans cut in
