Default Best Mk5 Escort

Hiya,

Just wondering what would be a better base model for the Escort Cossie Rep i have planned with a 2.0l zetec turbo.

Would it be a 1.8 Zetec 3i, with a 2.0l dumped in

or

mk5 2.0l rs2000?

the rs2000 runs the i4, a 2.0 16v that was used in the formula 2 race cars, not as cheap as the zetec to tune but still a mint engine

no, zetec is a better base. i4 is heavy and not as tunable. get a 3i and put the 2 litre zetec in it, decat it, decent exhaust and you'd beat rs2k's anyway
