hi guys. i recently bought a 3bar map sensor from someone on ebay brand new. since fitting the sensor, the car smokes quite a bit when boosting and over running
turbo is brand new and so is engine (750 miles ago). i have been told that the map sensor could be faulty so i need to find out what numbers identify a 3 bar sensor from a standard 2bar. PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!!!!!

 

hello mate a std 2 bar is black and a 3 bar map sensor is grey sounds like it is faulty tho as i had to work on one that would misfire on boost and then it got even worse and it wouldn't run as it should and it turned out to be the map sensor.

 

Altho the new batch of 3bar sensors are also black

 

presumably you had a 3 bar fitted before??

i think it has aps 05 01 written on it or similar

 

Sounds like a faulty map check the part number code i had a prob with 1 i bought the code shud be...APSO5/O1..

Pressure sensors MAP
• PRT03/04 - 1bar
• APS02 - 2 bar
• PRT06 – 2.5 bar
• APS05 – 3 bar

 

3 bar map sensor code number ARE APS05/01 batch numbers 0989 may vary! can come in black or grey!
