I've got a set of 8x17 wheels with an offset of et25 I'm just thinking this maybe too wide for the front has anyone else rub this setup before my line of thought was that it would be ok as there he same as an escort wheel just an inch bigger and now I'm doubting it

ET25 is no good for a sapp, to wide, you will have issues on the front and the rear to, dependant on wheels arches modded or not,ride height and tyre size of course.Not a sapp offset.Sapp offset is around ET35 normally.

I've heard a few people say they have no issues with a 2wd just supposentje differences knock it our and cause issues on a 4x4

Let's see about getting them machined down then

 

I have a lowered 2wd Saff with 17 inch alloys with ET35 offset and even with rolled arches the fronts will still sometimes just touch the top of the arches so I think that ET25 is not the correct offset. Maybe a 4x4 Saff is different?


17x7.5 with ET35 offset. Not much room. With ET25 I am sure the tyres would rub all the time.

 

I have 17x8 ET35 with 215/40R17 on my 4x4. The front and rear arches have been rolled and don't catch. But I think they would catch if the wheels would be ET25. Of course it also depends on the tyre size, but with 8J wheels 215 is already a quite narrow tyre. In my opinion ET25 doesn't look right either, it seems like the front wheels stick out.


With the 6 degree beam the rear wheels move more straight up and this makes the clearance even less. This is with the suspension arm on the bump stop.

 

Marc sierra. I have the same size tyres as you and there is not much clearance on yours either.

Hi

Please dont do that - you risk having too little material under the wheel nuts. If you remove 10mm its quite a lot to remove from that area.

As a note
I have a 4x4 sapph and I run 8x17 et35 on front and et25 on the rear and it looks good I think.

If I put the et25 on the front it looks strange and they will catch

Tyres are 215/40 - so they are stretched a bit which help too
Car is lowered a little and rear arches are rolled no rubbing
