Default Saff cossie metal fuel lines/pipes

How do you disconnect them from the plastic pipes. What do the metal pipes look like when they have been disconnected.

I decided to clean my fuel pipes up on the cossie and fit new pipe clips. I wire brushed the pipes. The fookers have only started leaking.

Would any 8mm metal or copper fuel pipe clip back into the plastic pipes or do the standard metal pipes have special ends.

Cool thanks Jeff.

I knew when i was gonna replace the brake/fuel pipe clips that the fookers would leak.

i did mine when i rebuilt it and i used a kunifer pipe. i used 8mm stuff so it went stait into the old clips then i got compression fitting in an-6 to pipe in my fuel rail but i think you can get clips to run your old fuel piping into so you dont have to change the plastic stuff if you still have it

As above you could scuff up and use upol acid etch and then paint moonstone silver no one would ever know.

I got my tube from a company called ATEC in brackley, Northants but I had to change to graded hoses from the hard line at the pump & engine ends.
The hardline I got was an aluminium tube with a black polymer coating which is easy to form with a mini pipe bender.
Got some picks somewhere if you want them?

the reason i got kunifer pipe is is because it does not rot like steel and does not work harden like aluminium and copper

i'm about to undertake this challenge shortly, but i'm using an in tank pump (023) and late efi tank. i'm considering using 3/8 pipes rather than 8mm OD so i have the potential for 500bhp if i ever fancy pushing it that hard. I think i'm just going to replace the feed and return pipes with 3/8 Kunifer, then also change the feed and return in the sender unit.

You would need to get the same exact diameter tubing and also replicate the raised section on the end of the pipe which locks it onto the existing push fit connectors.

Also noticed that they now have a cancel pipe shaping machine which sounds interesting!

It's just mean as the material is worked it will become harder and more brittles. in a fuel pipe the variation will harden it over time and eventually it will crack and leak.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think copper will crack and break up really quickly but I did not want to be doing this again so just done everything to make it a one time job

I've not really swatted up on the product I used, I know it's used within motorsports so I suppose the lifespan in these circles wouldn't need to have any Longevity anyway!
As long as it out lasts me I'm not to bothered.

Push fitting hose on smooth pipe is not recommended on the feed because it's under high pressure! But it's ok ish on the return.

Im gonna try and flare the ends of the pipe so it has something to grip onto.

I seen them pipes in the link but i dont really wanna spend 150 quid on fuel lines.

I know what you mean! It will probably be less hassle in the long run and definitely cheaper, OK mine looks good but was a total brain/ball ache to do, trying to work out the best fittings to use and how to adapt them at each end.
It's ok if you work and do this sort of thing all the time but if like me most things I do on it is normally the first time and always a learning curve, and if I had found them ready made when I was looking I would have gone for that option also, just make sure they will fit the original adapters.
