Yorkraceway Thrash
I think this would be amazing! Staff cars thrash it out. Both mags could do a special edition and each could feature the others cars. We could all help out in one way or another. Make a day of it! Get a few cars featured! It would be epic.
So lets get this rolling!!
I'm in! Who else?

Nope.
As much as I'd love to do regular thrashes Health & Safety regulations, and our company insurers have pretty much ruled it out. No idea what PF's situation is and they may have more lenient insurers (or not worry about the risks as they're not a PLC).
They're also very expensive to run with track hire, Medic hire, photographers etc meaning that it can get very expensive for us very quickly - and the cost isn't offset by increased sales despite what everyone thinks.
As I've said before if someone else wants to organise one, and charge us an attendance fee so they're not out of pocket, then go for it. I have discussed this with several people, and while everyone's full of enthusiasm at first, when it actually comes down to organising it people go very quiet.
Why on earth would we promote each other's magazines? Plus, I doubt anyone would want to see how fast a Mondeo TDCI would go!

Hire Bruntingthorpe - 0116 247 8000,
Hire a Medic (MSS Safety Solutions 01635 817548)
Create a risk assessment doc (or pay MSS to do it)
Take out public liability insurance
Find the willing participants.
Arrange a mutually agreeable time and date for the thrash to take place
Tell us and we'll bring a photographer, and the use of our timing equipment.
Simple!

Hire a venue 4K
Amulance & Fire trucks 2k
Organise proper timing gear that people will believe or a world war starts.
Legal Docs for entrants to sign to stop you going to jail for 50 years in case of a death.
Organise enough cars to cover your costs, an established event like Vmax Charges Ł145 & gets around 45 cars.
Get any of the million people interested to actually pay money in advance so you dont go broke.
Sorry Dan has replied first hes a faster typer than me.

Ok so this is looking promising!
Yorkraceway.org.uk
Provided we get enough people to take part. Everything is catered for! H&S, Timing gear there will be other clubs there and public but it's separate to clubs runs. They cater for drag cars with glue launch pads or normal for treaded cars. Just finding out more info and ill see if we can set it all up.

No you can't do top speed runs, they have however introduced a new class. You can now run what you built. Home made motors with any engine .
The original idea will not happen! But a day will happen. I'm in talks at the moment. Big Thanks to Performance Ford Magazine for coming on board also to make this happen

York is not far off pod time wise, the entrance road is a but shitty and so are the toilets
They have allways had space for car clubs, think you just need a minimum of 10 cars. Nice friendly atmosphere though. Ł12.50 entrance per person and Ł30 to run all day.
There a bit stricter than pod with scrutineering etc,but they actually give a shit that you stay in one piece.

Hes a fairly new member on here so dont realise how hard it is to organise things on here. Ł43 thats about 8 times the cost you can squeeze out of members on here for anything . Still I wish him well it wont happen if you dont try.

The track will sort everything, camping, promotion the lot. Having said that its like you say no one will put there hand in their pocket for it.
I've read so many times people complain about lack of these track days and thrashes. And when someone tries to sort it and gets a good deal, people's heads retract back in their shells.
Suppose it's how the world goes

Exactly Rod, we can never knock anybodys passion as it what the scene needs from time to time a injection of fresh blood, but in the days of red tape and silly costs it simply prices most out, love the idea but its a non starter like most of our fords

As I have mentioned to you Chip & SteveB organise the PF trackday at bedford autodrome each year which is always a good day, and I sort the yearly Ace Cafe bash but if you make up any ground with the raceway I will support you in whatever you need where possible

No probs Steve. It's open to all anyway. It would have just been our group challenges n rwyb.
It doesn't matter to me. Just doing one for the team like.
But this is the way it is Rome wasn't built in a day, but I'd've had ago lol

Ill sort everything Ł43 for all day and performance ford will be attending! Just need the heads to make it happen! If Rod or Martin Hadland said they would come everyone would be in. It's minuscule to the big hitters. But we all have to start some where.
I might post a "support wanted" in the wanted section lol

Loads of lads I know would go too.
PS you don't need Reyland, nice enough bloke I know but why does he have to attend?
And if you post Rod is going, no fucker will go

Lol thanks guys,
Like I said everything is provided by the track! First aid, insurance, etc etc. it will be a good day out for all the family and those that are driving can use the day to test out there projects!
Lets see what times people can get
I'm gonna give it a go!
Thanks to all that are willing to help out and turn up
PS. I don't think Rod would turn out to this anyway but all are welcome.
