Default Ford shows @ Billing Aquadrome

Is there a reason no Ford shows are held at Billing Aquadrome?
Was chatting to a few people earlier on at national day and we were on about other car shows, ie Vauxhall, Vw etc...
I've been a couple of shows held at Billing, it's a massive site, ideal for a weekend show... Easy enough to get too...

the main thing with venues is how much money they hold their hands out for as the days of free venues and the attendees will cover costs are long gone

Fair enough, I wouldn't know on costs etc for a show...
Just others use the venue and have some awesome shows... Just wondered why there was no Ford events held here...

I'd personally love to see Fordfair at Billing for a weekend event...
The amount of people that travel from other countries to this event, I think it's the least we could do to make there stay even better.
Probably wont happen due to no track, but not everyone wants to go on track...
I think a big weekend event is what the Ford scene needs...

Slightly off subject, Never been but maybe look into booking a Passionford stand at Retro car mania next year?
Looks a good weekend...

Trouble is a STATIC show doesn't work for everyone tbh, Ford Fair without track imo wouldn't work

Maybe not Fordfair, but something on that scale over a long weekend, camping fri, sat night... Just a good laugh with mates and like minded people...
It's something the Ford scene is defiantly missing...

Billing is a rather dull venue - and as the whole thing is on grass it's rubbish if it rains. As with the flooded VBOA event last year - It's called an Aquadrome for a reason!

Ford Fair will never end up there.

Also, the problem with any two day event is that is costs twice as much to stage (twice the venue rent, twice the staffing, etc etc) whereas you don't get twice the attendees, nor can you realistically charge twice the entrance fee of a single day event.

You would also get less traders, as it means taking even more time off work.

A two day show seems like a great idea from a show attendee's point of view - but from the perspective of a show organiser, a weekend show is a headache.
