Was fantastic fun, Corsa felt like it had endless power with how little grip there was available.

Seems to be going really well since me and the mrs did a quick one day bottom end rebuild on wednesday (and ran it in yesterday driving it up!) on it to fit some steel rods and pocketed pistons and new rings and hone the bores.
Totally stopped all the problems I had with it breathing too, catch tank was completely dry after about 10 sessions today where as last time out on the old bottom end it was losing a whole catch tank fuel per session!

Just need to do the new head now as well so the stems seals dont smoke their tits off on the over run but havent got the springs I need to use with my new cams.

Annoyingly I still dont really know if my recent suspension changes have helped the handling as the track was so slippery today the suspension wasnt really seeing the loads it would normally.

Fucking love the sound of the bodies at 7750rpm on the new bottom end, SO much better than the clio sounded cause they are practically in the passenger cabin on the XE

Slight downside for us was the clio has developed an oil leak and got black flagged, but TBH it just gave us more time to enjoy the corsa anyway, the mrs always picks the clio if both are working but now she has spent quite a few sessions in the corsa she is quite liking it

My connect van did this. Turned out to be the actuator. The heat from the downpipe buggers the dyapham.

P.s. Did anyone get a picture of my mate putting my Clio in the gravel trap?

Looks damp !

Do you run a supertrap on the Corsa Chip ?

What was the results of the static test ?

It was just over 100 static without the supertrap, but I ran with the supertrap just to make sure, it makes quite a difference to noise and nothing you can feel to the power (although I did chuck a few more disks in this time just to make sure it wasnt restrictive)

Not too bad then, do they have a massive effect on the power of turbo engines do you know ?

Sounds like a ideal modification really.

Fantastic day. Jim's M3 faultless throughout the day despite Jim being worried about the brakes. Thanks to chippa for a blast in the corsa. Goes well and the noise!

Very very wet in the morning.

Mikes escos is awesome. Proper car control he has and huge powerslides that got him a finger waving from the marshall. The brown porsche was going past everyone on track.

Nice to see old faces again

Right, finally surfaced,

Firstly a massive thanks to Chip for the brake fluid. Schoolboy error on my part as I got distracted doing all my checks on Friday and it was a little lower than I thought causing the fluid warning light to come on under hard cornering. Chip saved the day though and wouldn't take anything from me for the fluid. Legend mate

Thanks also to Jim G for the passenger laps in his M3. Bloody good to catch up fella

Thanks to RichardPON for the blast in his M3 cabby which despite the river we were driving on felt sure footed and very quick. Mind you him chatting in a totally calm tone as we were powersliding round the corners was a new experience Again mate, bloody good to catch up

Finally thanks to Rob for taking my lady out for a couple of hot laps in the Focus RS. Although I still haven't had a go She came back with a big silly grin and was talking about the day most of last night with her friends when we went out. I think that's her track cherry well and truely popped

And on to the pics. Took forever to pull them off my camera and select a few to upload. Did anybody get any of my A4 on track?

Depends how many disks you run, on my nova with 18 disks, it made no difference to the power that I could discern from driving it, and it didnt change the AFR to any extent I could notice (I wouldnt spot 0.1 anyway as the fuelling varied a little anyhow but would spot a big change like 0.5 or whatever)

But if you run lots of disks, it doesnt make the car much quieter.

Of course if you do the static test it with 6 disks in, then fit 18, it looks the same to the scrutineer at a glance anyway as none of them tend to realise how many disks you have or not

Driveby though of course, not so easy to cheat with!

Gald you enjoyed mate, for the money its a pretty cool little track car really, although ultimately I prefer the clio's handling, love that XE engine though, Lesley was saying its a shame we cant just fit the XE to the blue clio till the yellow one is done with the honda engine

A thoroughly enjoyable day....

Good to catch up with some old faces, as I haven't done Beds for 5 years!

Track was absolutely lethal in places, especially coming on to the pit straight! Was very aprehensive about it being that wet, but I took the opportunity to see how the M3 drove sideways, and I can confirm it went very well!

Needless to say, the brakes are shot. Standard M3 ones aren't up to track work at the best of time, and I brake very hard and very late, so they're for the bin....

Some very quick cars out there in spite of the conditions.... a couple of those little Clios going very well indeed.

Don't have any pics worthy of much, but if anyone has any pics of mine, let me know....

I kept looking at your frs thinking i know that plate and how nice it looked then realized that was off your old focus.

I think we should of all wore name tags or something as speak to loads on here and didnt speak to many on the day due to being on the track most of it either driving or passenger lol

I had 4 "moments" all days but due to superb car control (read as pure luck) I managed no spins and I was driving possibly as hard as I could...lol

That gearbox is mega noisy though, nice road car you have there Mike

How did the FMC car go, can't imagine that was much fun with 500hp and 205 wide tyres

Looks like a good turn out, pitty the weather was a bit crap but thats how these things can sometimes go.
