Great meet but why does it always sound like Alex is telling everyone off everytime he does a speech/rant, if I wanted to get my ear bent I would phone up my ex mrs, not go to a car meet.
All that banging on about a regional day could raise 3-4K etc, I doubt most people care, we just want to enjoy the meets and have a social and look at the cars etc, not care how much money the club is making or not.

I realise these things need saying to a certain extent, as clubs require a certain amount of funding to survive, but it doesnt need to sound like a primary school teacher telling a naughty class off!

Everybody has their own style and we are all unique as individuals, that's what makes us human we were there last night to support and enjoy the evening (which we did) and shouldn't really be casting aspersions

Sometimes you do have to moan to get the point across, its the only way some people will listen, while I appreciate your promotion on what I do sometimes I get dis-heartened too, eg: I send out nearly 100 texts everytime I send out a club message, how many of us were there last night? show payments and interest is very slow at the moment, I can only tell the members about it, as I've said before, its the members who make any club, all I can do is try and lead and give a sense of direction, I don't think Alex is/was looking down at anybody, he was just majorly disappointed that he had to pull the plug on their regional day, I feel the same when things don't go as well as I'd like at Middx, I want the club to thrive for the member base that we have and all that have returned recently.
I hope that the Essex crew will grace us with their presence at some point as it would be a pleasure to have them

Hey Jimmy, who was the cheeky cunt in the cabrio who never even offered to pay Matt back for his fuel after Matt stopped on the hard shoulder to help him and me and mike took Matt's fuel return off and pumped a gallon of petrol out of his fiesta to give the fella in the cabrio?

He did come and say thanks in the pub which was nice, but with fuel prices the way they are I would have though he should have at least been offering the cash or to buy Matt a drink or something, not sure if Matt would have taken it anyway, but it would have been nice for him to have offered at least!

That left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth as well TBH while we are moaning, we're all meant to be helping each other out etc and as you know i'll always go out of my way to help people but it was a bit fucking cheeky expecting free fuel courtesy of Matt

Not your responsibility and TBH the guy in the fiesta didnt really mind me giving away some of his fuel seeing as I was helping map his car completely FOC anyway so he viewed it as still a good value evening from his point of view, it was just the principle of it that wound me up a little, if that was me getting bailed out on the side of the motorway I would have been buying the fella his food and drink for the evening TBH.

Where do you think middlesex got all their ideas from, me !!
Everything you do is exactly the way essex has been doing for a few years now, jimmy has come to me for support and given him my point of view on things when your club was kicked out, was not having a rant, just getting my point over to those who have let me down,maybe you should try running a club that was left with bare nothing and bills to pay and see what you could do !!!
Essex is one of the biggest regional groups around,proud of it and love the club, yes maybe i may of been a bit harsh but you havnt been there month after month with the promises for help and now everyone has let me down,i put a lot of effort into the club and money, hours, etc, so please dont tell me to come and see middlesex to see how its run when everything is copied from essex rsoc, i know how to run the club and in where its going.

PS... And yes im very upset in pulling the plug on our regional day as it would of been massive and great for the club,if ive upset people in putting my point across then im sorry,but thats me, and thats how i do things,the club needed that regional day!

No problem mate, happy to support the club both in terms of coming along and making up the numbers and buying food to keep the landlord happy etc but also to give an honest appraisal from an independant point of view

I was under the impression that you were still outside of it, and hence totally different to the way that Jimmy (while copying you apparently) has managed to get middlesex welcomed back into the RSOC and hence gained access to all the previous club funds again too.

Jimmy im sure will have copied some of your good ideas (and other regional groups too for that matter), I know he has a lot of time for you, but one thing that in return you could copy back from his is RESPECT for the members of the club he runs which he shows in how he talks to them.

Well if there isnt enough support in the club to run one, then not much you can do, but no need to talk down to everyone like that IMHO however dissapointed you are that no one else in the club seems to share your passion for generating money.

Think you know what i meant in saying one of the biggest,and no not going back as our members dont want it and have spent money on moving on being independant, we have massive support and its great,just dissapointed to miss out on an great day for the club,everything was in place,but like you said if i cant get people to help then there was nothing i could do, like i said,if you think i spoke down to people then i can only say sorry,but that wasnt my intention, thats why i pulled the plug, hope t6o sort it out late this year for our regional 2012, hope to see you at middlesex or our Essex meet, cheers for your comments

im part of the middlesex committee and i certainly have not got ANY ideas of you or even asked Jimmy for ideas on what you are doing as a group. I can also say the same for a few other committee members

I wasnt there at your meet so cant comment on how you came across - but on this thread you are certainly not helping your persona.

Incidently, what bright ideas have you come up with that no other clubs have? Raffles, car of the night trophies are nothing new. As are regional days.

i dont want to ruin your thread so will not post after this. I was responding to your comments about all the ideas for middlesex rsoc have come from you which is not the case.

End of the day we are all out to do the same job as running a club can get very stressful at times, especially when you have to fit it in around all your own committments.

Exactly, but please do speak to jim and then you will relise what im on about, Essex is massive and always will be,yes its hard to run a club,especially a bigger than normal club, put hard work into essex, but just remember one thing, you also got kicked out like we did ,differance is we didnt want to go back and you did, we aint gonna have a headteacher telling us what to do and keep robbing us,and another thing,we post on here as we aint with the rsoc, obviously you lot post on here cause the rsoc web aint all that and you get more response on here,i can say so much more about middlesex with the ins and outs mate, need i say more ?? Or would you like us to get on your threads and slate you and your club, WE DONT DO THAT !!! We get on with things in house and dont care about any other rs club in what they do, it aint our bussiness ! Dont worry ive already told our members not to post on your thread,and it was calls to me stating that middlesex have ruined our thread, any chance of Essex coming to your meet has now gone out the window as we wanted to show you support with 10 to 15 car turn up which was in pipe line for june, so lets just move on now and i aint gonna reply to any more posts on this thread as its absolutly screwed now.... Because if it was mine on here then its NOTHING to do with Jimmy so god knows why you were phoning him about it or why he would apologise for it, if you want to phone someone about it then PM me for my number instead don't hassle Jimmy or anyone else about it.

I go to the middlesex most months, I go to surrey most months, I go to essex about half the time and I go to kent occasionally as well, my comments arent made on behalf of any one other club though or accountable by the chairmen of any of the clubs I go to reguarly, they are just my own personal opinion as someone very much in the car scene who has been attending and helping with running car clubs for the last 15 years, who works as a motoring journalist, and who has NEVER in any of those contexts before seen a club chairman talk to a room full of members and prospective members (I brought 2 people with me for the night one of which has never been to essex before so that was his FIRST impression of the club!) in such a derogatory manner.

Ive had three different people PM me about my comments on here so far too, but they have only been purely in support of the fact that someone needed to tell you it and they are glad someone finally has done so, so you are mistaken if you think its only me that thinks its disgraceful that you would talk to club members that way.

So in future please, if you have a problem with anything I say, talk to me about it as the only person I am accountable to is myself!

Well lets face it, no one at your club needs any more head teachers coming in from anywhere else to talk to them as that is EXACTLY how you treat your own members, so its fucking ironic to hear you being such a hypocrit about not wanting others to talk to you in exactly the way you talk to others

The RSOC is clearly better off with you having no part in it if that is your attitude towards its clubs just because someone who happens to go to some of their meets is of the opinion you dont talk to people appropriately and dares to mention it.


You say about the RSOC taking money, but when middlesex went back into the RSOC they got every penny of their club funds back contrary to what you said would happen.

As discussed on the phone, lets agree to disagree on the nitty gritty of the politics of running a club etc (which is always a bit of a nightmare anyway), and just agree on supporting the clubs themselves and enjoying the cars etc.

And lets certainly not let anyone from essex think its the middlesex club having a go at the essex club, cause that certainly isnt the case, its just two individuals disagreeing, nothing more than that so it would be a real shame for both clubs if people are viewing it out of context and thinking im speaking for middlesex when im not, or talking about the whole essex club when im not.

Will make sure I come and say hi next time im down at the meet, and I hope to see some of you at the middlesex meet soon too

As above,had great disscussion on phone with chip, both agreed not easy running a club and organising shows,events,meets etc, there is not any context of blaming any club,heat of moment words and as you all know i have the most respect for jim at Middlesex RSOC and all clubs, i understand some context of opinions too,my heart is for Essex RSOC, hope to see you all again at Essex,and also will support Middlesex and arrange a great group of cars to come down,Some misunderstanding from both of us,
