update
as said above, done a few bits and primed them and they reacted, so for now ill leave that out of it.
i fitted my escort cosworth washer jets in the bumper today, been meaning to do it for, hmmmm 8 1/2 years now
anyway, to make sure they were put in right and holes were cut right etc a template was made, drew on, got right then the holes cut and filed to size and there a nice fit, but i cannot use the little lugs that keep them in on a cossie, i have had to cut then off and i will have to use some of my super duper double sided sticky foam tape to keep them in, no hardship though.
btw, they will not be connected up, they ar for looks only, although i am going to put pipes on them and hide them should i decied to rig them up at some point

only a tiny tiny update.
following ford fair which was great , i managed to get the decal i was looking for, by chance really, tbh i forgot about it and on the second time going around just happened to see it in a box and remebered it
i was also on the look for a standard ford badge for the back, the old type one but could only find newer ones, aprt from 1 stall which the guy said they were brand new and were a tenner, although the one i was holding had a chunk missing, had been painted again and was a bit thin on the edges where he had polihed the scraches out, so thought, yeah fuck you up sun shine.
but, clark (knuckles, ft.com) came through and gave me a brand new one still in its bag nice one bro
pic of the 2 new bits.
i spent a massive whole £2 in ford fair, and that was on that sticker
anyhow, gunna do more on the car tomorrow, if i cant sort the reacting out on the front bumper im gunna kick the fock out of it and move on to something else

right, good news, went out to the workshop again today, wasnt out there long due to having to get a lift to and from it now my run around has gone.
anyway, i got rid of the reacting primer, all i done was wet flated it with some 600 lightly, dryed it, warmed the area witht he hair dryer and just primed it again, give light coats and rought drying each coat and it cam out fine which was good.
had a couple of little area than needed some stopping, and another couple os areas that reacted to the primer, so once it was dry i done the same as above and it was fine, but most time was wasted due to wating for things to dry etc, but i had to make up some bonnet spacers for jonboisxr2i (FT.com), so done them in between.
there was some bits i could do on the car, but it would of been getting my hands dirty, and i didnt fancy slight oil/greasy hands when touching a bumper im preping for spraying so today was lost really but the bumper is finished and ready for paint, if i had had more time i would of painted it, well half as its done in 2 parts due to the black splitter.
anyway, for anyone who hasnt got bored and fcuked off, a few pics of the bumper, the last time you will see it in this state
also, i have a new passanger rear arch, well, s/h, needs studding again, and painting, i havent picked it up or even seen it yet but mine has gone a bit funny in 1 place due to not being located right in the stainless clip, im sure it will right it self when i re fit it, but i'll get the spare arch and stud it out and prep it anyway.
if when i fit mine back on it doesnt sort it self out, ill paint up the spare one and fit that one, for the sake of a fiver, i cant let it pass like the one at ford fair

only a very small update, i havent done anything to the car really but ive get some more bits and bobs together.
got the grear knob from national day for £2, ok its not best condition but it goes with the silver bits of the dash i got and for 2 bucks it dont matter, it will be changed for a mint one when i find a mint steering wheels or get one of the spares i have re covered.
these came from a mate, who er, got them from work , i owe ya one dude
i picked this up today for a tenner from another mate, i will not be refurbing this one as it will be a spare, but i might refurb it in the winter or something but for now it stays as it is
when out at the car the other day i was a bit fcuked off to find the paint starting to flake on the gearbox, i mean come on i havent even driven the fcuking thing
to me its roughter than a rought bird at a ugly party
and the other night i decided to sort all my receipts out, they range from 1998 to 2007, starting on the sofa and working there way round, it may not look like it but theres over £10k's worth there and that dont inc what i paid for the car!
biggest one was about £823 from fiesta centre for avo coil overs and rear disc conversion
i dont want to, but i am gunna ad them all up, and put them all in a proper folder
and finaly, i will be the owner of one of these next week, so let the compounding and polishing begin.
thats about it, nothing major i know

well, no updates for a while as i havent touched it, mainly due to not having time, which is a bit of a bummer as i wanted it done by now but still, its been this longer so whats another month or 3
anyway, went to fords the other day and came out £52 and not happy after the parts guy informed me i could of opened a account and got discount right from when i started the rebuild :x :x c*nt!
anyway parts i got
screws for the bonnet vents
woodufft key for crank, dont need it but never know eh
woodufft keys for cam, pack of 5 only again dont need them but hey
2 rubber bump stops for boor lid
new rear washer jet
foam bump stops for bonnet, they sit on wing up near scuttle, pack of 5 only again
2 new door weather strips, £30 plus post on ebay, stick that, £6.99 plus vat from fords each
the seal protectors (kick trims) £7.30 plus vat each of you dont mind
and if anyone wants to maintain ford do in fact make there own parts not out side companies (like ive said) heres proof, 2 kick trims, made by 2 different compaines and not 1 is fords , go on, argue that :P

well the update is this, the car is now being left till next year, its got to cold to finish painting as the place its at has no heaters and im not gunna risk crappy finish due to dampness or the cold, plus a fact i dont really want to get it on the road in the winter, i would rather it in summer so i can enjoy it more
so for now, it will be set for the winter, the battery out, and crap removed from in side to allow air to get round it all and work will continue next year.
the plans i had for it with buying new rocker arms and oil coolers etc etc are also on hold, mainly becuase ive spent some of the money
since having to sell my 1.3 mk3.5 fez run around few months ago ive got pi$$ed of with no car, so ive bought another, and the best bit is it will be a daily driver, and next year will be a project,. when the rs is done that is, and i shall start a new thread about this car in a mo.
this is the car, a C reg mk2 xr2 in red
im not gunna bang on about it in here and clog this thread up, see the thread about it here
https://passionford.com/forum/viewto...280915#4280915
any comments on the xr2 please put in the xr2 thread

im starting to get itchy feet about my rs, i checked on it the other day for the first time in about a month ooh: and all was well, took the battery out as it was flat as fcuk and bought it home, its being charged and will be trickle charged for a day every few weeks to keep it in good order seeing as it was abrand new battery in august (thanks to 4 year warrenty on the old one ) anyway, i was looking at it gleaming at me in its sorry state and thought, i really do need to get ths back on the road, so althoguh plans i make tend to take a long time to happen or dont happen through different reasons this one will, i asure you.
those that have been following this rebuild will be aware of the sort of building its in, i.e with 3 bloody big rooms, well the deviding wall between the garage and the room to the side is only a stud wal l and supports nothing and this will be coming down when the machine shop is set up, but i will be doing that sooner, with that the wooden floor in the next room is also being replaced, this will mean that i can get my rs in that room which give much more room than the current room its in meaning it can be painted in there, yes im spraying again , and with minor thigns put up like plastic to lower the roof (to keep heat down) a heater will be put in there and extraction added and thus it will be warm enough to paint.
the problem i have had before is having to move the car after its been painted, ok not a major problem in it self but still annoying seeing as the masking has to be ripped off to see whare your going etc, but with this it can be painted any time of the day, or night and left alone, so the little bits of crap that ive picked up in the paint in the past shouldnt happen, and of course, having that extra room, means i can put the car back together without having to push it out to start, then back in when it starts to get dark etc, i can work all round it when i want for as long as i want, and the space can be used to the machines later and even the xr2 when that starts to be done but thats a different story.
in case your wondering why i didnt do this from the start its simple, its not my property, its my aunt and uncles, and that room was proper full of crap, but last year the machines came over about may time and the room was cleared, and the whole floor bar about 10% of it is rotton through uncle said he would pay for the wood ect and me and my dad re do the floor, no probs, unfortunatly he had a stroke not long after and it all stopped, hes getting better now mind and i will be talking to them again in the new year to see if i can still do it, but this time at my cost, i cant see a problem, but i shall ask.
other than that, theres not much to report, ive not done anything to the car, and tbh, untill the floor is done or summer time gets here nothing will be.
but for now merry christmas everyone, cheers for the support and comments so far, and fingers crossed i can get my baby to her first show next year, hopfully FITP (as long as its not $hit weather like last year eh lads )

i was looking at the kick trims that stick on the seals when clark was over and there fcuking different :x
called fords and he said take them down and speak to the guy on the parts desk (please god not that thick c*nt!) and tell him about it etc, but reckons ill have to buy another one as they prob wont chage it as its special order part :x , we will see about that, i mean there expensive for what they are (£9 each ) and i dont plan on paying for another but if its the only way out then i'll have to bite the bullet and do it but it wont be without a fight, thats for sure
still, if i do get another free or not, i will make it plan clear if it is different to the one i got, the better one that is, i will not be accepting it, and considering the amount of buisness i have put there way for this they should be willing to sort it for me, i know im small fry to them really, but thats not the point.
the 2 ive got, you can see they are different and the top one (in all the pic's) is in fact the better one out of the 2, and i cant even remember what they look like from the car, so if someone wants to post a pic of there gen ones that have never been removed, please do so.
also the better one came in the ford box not the grey box
cant belive i didnt clock it sooner

by the end of the month i should have some more paint so just need weather to improve to be able to use it,
anyway, had a touch on ebay last week, a brand spanking gen ford steering wheel.
the pic makes the leather look dark grey but it is in fact a matt/satin black and nice and soft :Q
just need a gear knob to match now. oh and won for the bargin price of £60.56p inc postage :Q :Q
remember, i have a black dash already etc, and will be fitting black carpet etc etc
