was planing a zetec turbo but due to time, money, kids etc i have now dropped that idea and am sticking with the cvh lump.

im not doing a full car rebuild as such as others have done, i would if i had the time and money but i havent.

so due to a big end shell throwing its toys out the pram the engine started to knock a bit, i replaced the shells just to get me over xmas as i planned the rebuild for about now to start, but when i started it up the turbo was gone, how and why fook knows but even a rebuild kit didnt sort it so might be something like to my oil pressure as it stops when cars warm, anyhow back to it, becausse of it all the car is now off road to be sorted.

i have some issues with panles, so they will be replaced, the filler panle is only just starting to bubble, not much but you can bet its 10 time worse on the inside! so thats coming out and new one in.
seats are being retrimmed in leather ( thanks to my mum, good old mum ) and me and my dad will do the engine and the body work, and my father in law has offered to spray it for me as hes a sprayer by trade

will inlist the help of some mates as i want the car ready for the summer, not counting my chickens but if i dont set some sort of limit it wont get done .

will post pics of the work as it gets done etc.

starting the first stage today, strip the inside out, this is so my mum can start when she can and stops the seats going manky where its left

plan is to strip it all out, body kit, seats engine etc and start on the under side getting that re-undersealed and tank/axal panited etc.

interior is stripped out as is all the bootbuild, going by the weight of it i reckon without my subs and the box it will be like a rocket, they weighted a fucking ton!
im redoing it all anyway and think i will use 6mm MDF not the 10mm as before.

havent got pics as i didnt take my cam, plus i still to take door cars and dash out.

just orderded the cream leather for the headlining and seat piping, £36.60 inc delivery!! good old ebay

once i get money out of vestas ill order the black leather, good old ebay again

talking of work, can you get me some bits wes , spray glue, masking tape etc

lol, no mate not yet, and from the looks of things i prob wont be once i got my redunadancey money i can work out whats left, if any and go from there.
wife wants a 7 seater so gunna get her one of them and ill have her old car ( mk6 escort xr3i) so wont need another car unless i can sell the escort

 

plan for this weekend is to drop the engine, get the car up in the air, drop the rear axle and fuel tank, and all the bits in the way, prep it ready for new under seal

will paint the tank and rear axle also.



thats a point, anyone know how to get the fuel lins off the connector on the tank?
haynes say you need a special tool or something.

well was thinking of it but it depends on cost, i dunno how many places do it on the isle of wight, i know the prison does and my dads mate who works there can get me bits done, but something like the rear beam would have to be booked in and paid for and thats if they can/will do something that heavy.

still waiting for my dad to get hold of him to ask, if it can be done and its not gunna hurt my ring piece, lol i might just have it done, if it is then ill just paint it.

all depend on cost, more i spend on powder coating the less i have for goodies

year shes good, well was, not going anywhere with naff turbo etc, lol

 

right been out to it today, after all the pis$ing about prob only got a few hours of work in, started at 12, had to put up a cover, started on it only to find i had forgot to ask my dad to grab the engine hoist from my uncles place so my dad and 1 of my mates went off to grab it, so me and my other mate were left there for hour and half taking little bits that didnt really have to come off, off like starter, coils pack etc just something to pass the time, but still all i got to do tomorrow is all the bits underneath, exhaust, crossmember, drive shafts etc and the engine will be out.
depending on time and weather will get the back end in the air and drop the rear axle and fuel tank.

sorry about the cr@p pics, dunno whats up with my camera but my mates bringing his tomorrow so should have some better ones.

i got a few hours in today so got the engine out.
should have money in my bank this week some time so can start buying up all the bits and bobs for the car, as well as some degreaer as it seems my oil filter was leaking and it was dripping on the drive shaft so the bulk head is covered

no proper udates at the mo as such, spent weeknd on mainland looking at cars for the wife, but while i was over there i picked up a rear SI bumper and some 16" mondeo alloys for the car when shes done.

cheers mate, dont like to waste time, last weekend was different, new car for the missis, this week end, well, we're have to play that by ear, did ask for a couple of days off work to catch up but was turned down for them as short staffed.

 

well nothing been done this weekend due to time and the fact its cold as fuck, but i did nip down fords today and got a load of bits up, half or which had to be ordered,

cant remember all the bits off the top of my head but i walked out near on £200 lighter

some other parts were cheaper else where so got them there, E.G new water pump, £22.12 inc vat, dont really think need a new one but for that i might as well fit it.

wont get nothing done sunday as i got a new shed arriving, so need to get that up so i can get the engine in there and strip and once all bored etdc rebuilt, also got 4 alloys to refurb so shed is a must this weekend

no, my mum now thinks her machine wont be able to do it havent got enough money to pay someone to do it so might have to give that a miss, dont want to but unless i can find someone with a sewing machine that will do the job and i can borrow it then thats a no go

still thats not really a major thing as such, as long as the engines done and the body work is sorted the inside can come at a later date if need be.

new cam and maybe pistons to be ordered monday, got to speak to fiesta center about the pistons they sell as it might work out cheaper for me to buy the pistons myself rather than get them from the place that bores the block.

 

hope to see it when its done (i like how it looks with that front bumper and im not too fan of the i like the standard one better but it looks goos in your fez gotta say)

got my new, well s/h shed put up today so got somehwre to referb my new alloys ( mondeo 16inch) and strip and rebuild my engine, well, once i build a nice strong bench for it

silver mate, theres a FRST riding on white mondeo rims anyway, my mates old one, dont wanna be copying now, plus i dont like white rims.

have got a 6x4 shed thats brick built on the back of the house but thats full of all my tools and bits and boobs, well thats my little work shop now, but need more room for doing the wheels and the engine

only update is i got a new another tatto last night, so didnt do anything in the new shed, well apart from get a strip light off my dad for it.

nothing tonight as im knackered, didnt get home from having my tatto done till 1.30am,

 

well picked up my new lower front panel and filer repair panel, its not bad but even though its small on the out side ( couple of bubbles) you know its about 3 inch on the inside, so thats coming off.

just found out ford have discontinued the door hinge pins, nice one ford :x

also got the FRST that im breaking, so some spares from that are going over to my car, well the turbo is, some other bits will go in stock

still waiting for the other bits from fords to arrive.

engine is being stripped sunday, blocks going in for rebore in the week with some luck, got to call them and make sure they can do it this week that is, head will also have a skim at same time

the crank is going to the mainland to be regorund and shells supplied, i know this sounds weird but it works out over £100 cheaper to have
that place on mainland do it than the place on isle of wight, crazy i know.
best thing is my dads cousin is coming over and he can take it and drop it in to them not sure how ill get it back but ill cross that brigde when i come to it

yeah i got a black one that i stripped for spares, done that yesterday, been over to my parents place to pick all the bits up today, plus i got to finish the bench in the shed and clear all the old wood that i stuffed in there out to make room for the spares and my engine when it comes over to my place. so doding that today.

hopfully will strip the lump this week and get the crank over to mainland to be sorted, cant get hold of the place over here to book my block in for rebore, every time i call the guys not there or has gone home, i know his closing down soon but cant turn buisness down like this, starting to piss me off as no where else on isle of wight does it

engine didnt get stripped sunday as i was busy.

its being done this weekend, well sat hopfully as its my kids birthday party sunday so better go to that.

got all my bits from fords now ( well not every thing i need but to date anyway.
