After another flat down with red scotch brite ,it ws all cleaned up wth this panel wipe ready for paint.




Then first coat of paint.I,m only using spray cans as 1.It's not seen and 2.the original paint is only dull matt mercury grey colour with out the clear coat

First just feathering in the edges.

A few coats later and it looks like this.

Have a few more little things to do before the VALETER from work comes over next week and works his magic.Full wet mop,wax and handglaze.

Just the finishing touch to the boot.Decided to cover the old carpet with this new stuff.

Looks a bit darker in the pics ,but it's not far off.

I take it you mean these.



Well i only done them like that to match my front BREMBO conversion.



But have now decided to ditch the FAKE BREMBO,S on the rear and replaced them with these.

Brandnew cossie 2wd rear calipers.


Will be just painted red and fitted this weekend.

I've just read this thread from start to finish, and all i can say is fair play fella for sticking with it throughout.

I've got to the fed up/bored stage with mine at the moment, so i've decided to cover it up in the garage and forget about if for a while. That way, the next time i get it out, it should rekindle some of the old buzz!

Well it,s been 2 years in the waiting,but yesterday my car made it,s first outing and what better place to go than FORD FAIR.Was kindly offered a space on the INTERFORD stand.

Drove there with no problems ,but couldn,t boot it as i had the wife and baby with me.

Here,s a few pics.

My only purchase was 2 RS OWNERS CLUB seat covers.

Just got to fit my front brembo,s and higher the back suspension(sit,s slighty lower than the front) ,and my car will be complete.
Might be selling it as apart from a couple of shows and the weekends it won,t get used.

As i said to LINCLON DANNY,was trying to see as much of the show as possible so was only near mine for 10 minutes here and there.

Saw yours though. But not you
I take you will be at NATIONAL DAY.???

Just a small mod i,m trying to get sorted before NATIONAL DAY.

I want to smooth the area around my BOOST GAUGE so it will look like it came from the factory like that.

Thought i,d make a start on my dash suround so took it to work and started pulling it apart.


Then re-bonded it so it sits flush.Put masking tape on the front then placed the re-cut panel ontop so it was level


Then mixed up some fibre glass and set it in place.





All nice and flush






Then first skim of filler

Then sanded down with 120 grit.



Second skim to get rid of imperfections and final shaping




Will smooth and prime tommorrow.Getting there.

Then primer.



Quick test fit.



Then more flatting and primer.



Then guide coated and left to dry on my box.






Will finish prepping and paint it tommorrow.
