Not really, kinda got sick of them cruisers and they're love of plastic stick on bits and neon lights about 4 year ago. Just use it to sell stuff nowadays

I agree. Its an effort regardless of what shell has been used. All this shell snobbery is stupid, i noticed its always ford aswell.

Never get anyone going mad at me for my 1.4 shell kitted up as a GSI, because all icare about is it will go like stink and shit on GSi's

Crack on mate, you'll havea car for life there

HA HA yes that old engine went streight on the scrap pile!!

Ignor the engine pics from earlier as my mate rob whose doing a turbo cabrio posted them! mines better of course I have had the gearbox coated candy red, the sump, crossover turbo pipe and rocker cover have been away for chroming. Also the engine has had a full rebuild/ new everything etc. I have got a burton quickshift for it which at the moment i have pinched for my everyday thrash cabrio 2.0 zetec. I would definatly recomend the quickshift if ur old ones worn. All being well i am going to the bodyshop tomorrow cos i am off all week. All the glass is new so no scratches with new ford rubbers. So tomorrow the glass will be back in. Pics to come.

I agree TV tonight is shite, probably why so many have been on passionford tonight!

I have taken a break from working on the car recently as i have been busy working. This weekend i have made a list of parts i still need. The turbo has been built by AET in yorkshire, 360 bearing fitted etc. I intend to order the omex system very soon. I will get the digital camera and post some up to date pics this week!

I've found one for 180 quid, has 3 things that need welding, solid enough for me!! Stripped it out so I KNOW the floor is solid too!!
Been searching for a year till I found one that was solid WITH sunroof, one without isn't hard to find over here.

Want to point out that fawdy really did a good job, read the whole topic again and what a lot of moaning about someone converting mk3 to mk4, who gives a f*ck, should be looked at the quality!

I dont think its so much a fact of hating it, its just SOOOOOOOOOOO much effort and money. But as has been said if theyve got the money to throw at it then fairplay, Fawdy's is a spanker. Can't honestly say i would do it myself either way though, too much hassle.

im not sure id go to the trouble of changing a mk3 to a mk4 but its still a very good project and a good read

later on this year i'll be turning a standard mk4 into an rs lookalike

Thats not as bad because you dont have to change all panels, as long as its cost effective to do and doesn't cost more than a genuine RS would.

You're wrong - the 1.3s were CVH's in the mk3 Escort, they changed to the HCS engine on mk4
