Restoration of my MKII ESCORT RS2000 ...update 09/04/07
A few pics of the car before i started the resto
this car was on track at national day 1 week before
then off came the nosecone to see what lies behind
not as bad as i was expecting here
Out comes the engine
with the engine out its time to strip the car of every last nut and bolt so its ready to be dipped
thats the engine bay cleared
Now for the inside
sunroof out time i think
vinyl has to go to
Time to get the grinder out ...wings off
front panel needs to go as well
thats it for now ..its all ready to go to be dipped to rid the car of all its imperfections , so i can see where i need to go next
will post some more pics as i proceed with the restoration

Not going down the concours route as your car has to be to perfect to get anywhere near in the mk2 world within concours
just going for a clean usable car, i know it was before but it needed various bits of paint , and i thought if im doing it im doing it properly

cost is Ł750
The company is coming to collect the car from my house with a 7.5 ton curtain sider , get the car dipped , they then do other stuff to the shell to protect it , then they are putting it in welder friendly primer , then bringing it back home to me in the lorry to keep it nice and dry
company is www.surfaceprocessing.co.uk
