Why not get the z-cars rear end conversion and use your engine and box instead of the Civic Type R engine to make it RWD.

Better traction, faster times

Good build by the way

Cause i want the mini to handle like a mini, and cause ive already got the nova.

Ultimately would be quicker if i built a ligthweight mid engiend mini, but TBH if i was going to do anything to make the engine quicker it would be sell it and use a V8 instead, its not always about the most sensible options, im just putting together cars that interest me, i know there are better things i could do pound for pound if i was only worried about the results and not pandering to my own tastes.

Can't fault you for doing something different

I went over to see Chris at Z Cars a month or so ago. He took me in one of his Hyabusa rear engined mini's and it handled better than anything I've ever been in by far including my own Westfield.

Getting the weight distribution right certainly helps with handling mate yeah

TBH though, with this engine in, the nova is going to be more of a straight line car, probably be easier to drive quick round the ring with its current 300bhp engine!

TBH ive been too busy messing about with the cossie and building an engine for Rob's astra lately and so havent really done anything much with this engine for a while.

Im still waiting for a custom exhaust manifold to be made at the moment, so thats the main stumbling block.

The teg is no more im afriad, currently sat in a scrapyard on top of a stack of cars and well beyond economimcal repair

Another project?

Blimey, you planning on finishing any of these this millenia? lol!

On another note, both the mini and Nova should end up the better with the new engine plans.

Keep it up.

its o.k if you can do the work yourself

whats the best thing to do to get more out of a zetec 20 16v
dont want big money spending on it just a little more bhp..

cam kit is Ł548 but only gives 12 bhp extra

take it out and import a klze 2.5 v6 from japan, a different version of the engine found in the ford probe that revs to 9000rpm, and makes circa 200hp standard :P

oh did i forget to mention the sound?
