Right... As some will know i collected an Engine last weekend for the old dear with Ian Southam.. Thanks Ian, Luv ya!!

Ok its a EFI N/A engine from a XR31 (90spec) actually all i really wanted was the block but got a lot more than i bargained for which has saved me shedloads of wonga.

Its now sat nice and dry in my garage after an intensive tidy up in there lol, Had to be a bit ruthless with some of my spares but hey not all clutter is good lol.. Cheers again Ian lol..

Got the complete inlet and exhaust manifold but will prob use the S1 manifold but modified for bigger/better turbo, Have everything i need Coil wise including the original plastic cover.. And many more bits that have saved me Coinage lol..

So.. Its on with the saving lol.

Right....

Well after months and months of harcore saving i finally managed to put some money away and actually spend it on the S1 PMSL.. Got my first gifts of love today, Well not so much gifts of love for me but for the car pmsl.. Well ok Both lol..








Airtec Alloy radiator, G2 Intercooler with 2 fans..


Avo road suspension kit, Erm missing the rear shocks in the box but are due tomorrow lol..

Just waiting for rear uprated suspension bushes and treated myself to 4 new axle stands and a decent trolley jack ready for a trial fit of the rads and suspension so i can work out all my clearances and what needs reworking to miss the wheels and fans..

Hopefully another update at the weekend with parts..

Finally recieved my rear suspension bush kit from Flo-Flex..



Thats all the rear bushes less the top shock mount rubbers as im going Ford on those.

Went up in my loft today to dig out some of my suspension componants which i'll need shortly for the trail fit!!

Some of the new suspension that will be eventually either powder coated or stove enamelled.. Got some old bits too like the front and rear anti roll bars and front knuckles that will be done too..


Forgot about my new MK4 lockset..


Purists and people in the know will already be thinking hang on the MK4 Barrel housings are different to the MK3!!
And you'd be correct but you think i wouldnt have thought of that..


Got my Mate James to machine out a 3rd notch, widen one of the notches already there and also to drill a hole for the release button!! Get in!!!!!


Et Voila.




The doors are MK4 anyway so only gotta rework the inside frame for where the inner handle goes and got to mod the tailgate for the MK4 barrel/lock to fit..

What's happening Phil, any further along. ours is pretty much done but don't run yet theres still a few bits we haven't managed to source, silly bits of trim etc but Carl can keep hunting for them whilst using the car.

 

Hey Guys,

Sorry i havent been about for a while, Not much has happened to the old girl since my last update..

This year i took her back into my old place of work and basically re-prepped all the outside of the shell again as a little bit of surface rust took hold, All done and the outside, doors and tailgate are now in two-pack grey primer..

A small update is that i'm now a proud father of a 1 year old Boy and in the new year i will be putting the project up for sale as i really dont have the time let alone the money to further the project on.. She really needs painting now and i'd like to see her go to a good home and to someone who will complete the paintwork stage within the next few months!!

The 16'' RS 7 spokes have been refurbished again as they started to corrode under the laquer They have been repainted in the same paint as the late shape VW Scirroco wheels which look really good.

Anyway, Will put up a proper for sale post in the new year as soon as i can. I would like the project to go complete even though i know i will get more money by splitting it.

Gutted you won't get chance to finish this you was doing a top job on it ... I really need a kick up the arse to get mine finished and reading things like this gives me the get up and go ... Hope this car goes to a good home and will be back out 1 day !!!

I know you've thought long about it mate, but Indon't see why you don't just leave it sat in garage untill you can build it, you'll be gutted specialy when ya brothers is done and ya see that.

 

Thing is Kev it needs painting like now or within a few months max, Cant keep flatting it back and re-priming. I just dont have the money for the quality of paintwork that it deserves

As for my Bro's one, I havent seen or spoken to him in about a year and from what i hear he's sold it. Family's ehh lol..
