Default Mk1 Escort BDA help required

Hi there well I need so help please. Bought a 49 type she'll from Australia and sourced a BDA engine to put into her. But I want a 5 speed gearbox that fits with out to many mods what can you advise bit of a novice so any good advise appreciated

Would have thought a Sierra type 9 5 speed would be your best option.

All the old Ford 4 cylinder engines shared the same bell housing bolt pattern, so it would bolt to you engine.

Starter motor position might no be where you want it, but I'm sure different bell housings are available.
