Default New Member - RS1600i - Restoration

Hi,

I am new to the forum.
I purchased a RS1600i last year.
The car has a private reg on it but use to have A121 HCP , this car had featured in a few mags as Classic Ford a few years ago.
The car is undergoing a full restoration, including fully soda blasted, replacement panels (quite a few) Full respray. Engine rebuild, full interior retrim (Aldridge Trimming) and all replacement parts where possible.

I would like to know more about the history of the car or if anyone has any questions or comments I would like to hear from you.

Cheers

Alan B

As I bought her

After Soda Blasting

During Rebuild

Having 2 pack stone chip applied

After Spray shop

Decals Applied

Engine rebuilt and ready to go

Looks like it's going to be pretty special when it's done.

Still miss my silver one

My old car

She's already been to Aldridge trim many moons ago for a few bits and bobs.

Glad she's being saved

ps. She was in Classic ford and featured in a RR day report @ Jamsport in Fast Ford during my custody

Thank you for the comments.

Paintworx in Burntwood, Cannock did the rebuild and local mechanic in Wolverhampton is doing the engine and rebuild.

I will keep the post updated.

I have applied to get the old reg no A121 HCP put on the car, so if anyone is interested in buying A16 XRS and may be open to offers.

I've just remembered that there was a previous owner in Aberystwyth if that's not in the history. I'm sure I have a few bits of paperwork for this car somewhere

If I can find anything you can have the originals to go with the car, I'm not far away in Stourbridge mate and work in Telford from next week 👍🏻

No they couldn't get any material to match.
They have done a complete re trim in the same colour but Alcatara.
To be honest they look fantastic, they are all wrapped up at the mo but as soon as they are out I will post some pics
