Pop down to the garage last Monday to check out what needed doing to the car over the winter.
Got a little carried away though and this is what happened Monday/Tuesday

Tillio, I'm gonna strip and repaint the shell, top to bottom renew all of the bubbles as they're knackered and paint it white again - not decided about graphics yet though
Pete, it's a 3.5l Rover V8 motor - you can see the full info on my site - just click the sig

No fear Lee
I must admit I'd forgotten about this thread so I'd best put some pics of the work in here as well
Here goes
Bit more on the rebuild carried out by Ken (www.rsescorts.co.uk) and I
and this was the car in the summer

and then it came back off the road to have the final paint job etc. care of Jacko at www.blueovalgarages.com
First a nice coat of white primer and base coat
And then we can start masking out for the stripes - this took about 2 days
Then it's on with the green
And the red
and then out into the daylight to see what we have
Now starting to fit the car back up
And finally get the new split rims on

Cheers lads, I must admit I'm over the moon with the look of the car myself, much better than I expected
I was having a nightmare getting the wheels to clear the rear of the front arches though but sussed it this weekend so I now have lock
Just the exhaust and the centre console to sort out now

Right, that's all the glass in, new rubbers all round, including the silver inserts in the front and rear screens. The front spolier properly fitted with the Dzus backing plates rivetted in, the seat lowered so it now goes back far enough for me to be comfortable.
I got the axle back from Tom at Fostek (www.fostek.co.uk) on Saturday. It's been shortened by 4 inches and had heavy duty 2 piece billet shafts fitted - the diff had to be reworked to accept the larger splines from the shafts. All bearings replaced and the shafts have also been drilled to accept the Nissan PCD wheels. Top work, cheers Tom
Test fitted it yesterday and it went straight in but I'm still gonna have to re-profile the arches to make sure I get clearance
Anyway, as per usual, here's a couple more pics

New outer rims arrived last week and here they are before and after (new ones on the right)
That inch reduction has made a big difference and the tyres fit a lot better now
The car's just about there, just need to bleed the brakes and clutch, tidy some bits up inside and give it a bloody good clean as it's minging
Looking pretty good though

The car's now fully boxed up and I was fully expecting to have it out on the road this morning but no
Bled everything yesterday and could not get a clutch pedal - went down this morning and swapped out the new slave cylinder for the old one just in case but no change so it looks as though the master cylinder has failed. So a bit pissed off but
while the car was outside being washed and afterwards I took these shots - can't stay pissed off for long just looking at it
So I'll source a new master cylinder and swap it out and try again
