Just a restoration to standard plus couple of additions or something a bit more in your face? Best get that welder out

I dont think so

I dont like to pick fault by any means but it almost looks as bad as plain rust! Id either cut 1 piece of metal to suit or get a replacement chassis rail and just replace the whole thing. Way Safer, at the end of the day if you leave it its only held together by a few spots! I know its not seen but thats no excuse. Good work on the beam though.

it will hold up,it was driven at least 2 years with rotten chasis legs, probably more,so there is no reason this wouldn't work

honestly looking at that if you haven't cut the patches off or at least welded them properly you might as well just have stuffed newspaper in the holes and covered it with filler.

this could have been a really nice project, but looking at the standard of the work, it'll end up a bodged death trap.

good luck to you and all who ride in it

like I said,i sanded down the primer around the welds and welded it like it should have been done in the first place,so no worries about that.

That welding is grim as fuck. Screw your head on and get it done properly before you kill cunts in that thing.

Cheers,

Shocking welding.... If that was in the UK it'll fail on the welding alone.

I see you haven't fixed it as per your new pics......!

Bloody hell. I have worked on some sheds in my time with some epic bodgery but that welding is shambolic. That will not support anything and will fail fairly quickly. As previously mentioned, get that cut back out and get someone who can weld to fix it, it would seem a waste to put all that effort in a car to have it let down by such a shoddy repair.

I dont think everyone's trying to be mean but it still looks rough. Tidying up the welds wont make the actual repair any better. Like said, dont want this to let down the car when your putting the effort in elsewhere

Exactly! No offence dude. Do it right, do it once. That's a standard that applys to most things.
Just make sure it's safe mate. They don't come out the factory like that so at least make a decent job of it.

I suggest you to look at some profi welding here on passionford. What you did is no repair, just fix for another year, then it will be rusty again. I don't know why you didn't first learn somwehere else than just go straight on chassis legs.
