over the last week we have made the front spoiler fit on some custom mounts, fitted 35mm rear wheel spacers and 10mm front spacers.
removed and prepped and painted front and rear spoilers and arch extensions, the arches have come out good but the spoilers are a bit patchy but it will do for now.

now i didnt want to cut out the front arch lip as it holds the arch inner liner in place and theres just enough clearance so it doesnt hit the tyre, so what ive done is prep and paint the arch lip and all the inner arch in black it looks much better now as it isnt visible, the blue arch pertruding from beneath the black overarch looked wank so thats sorted that out.
the paint all peeled off where the crappy sidetrims where so for now ive found a very close colour match datsun 305 blue and just touched up all the areas with that, i may get the car blown over in the same colour im not sure yet or plasti dip it matt white maybe......

anyways so i hung the panels up as best i could and painted them gloss black with aerosols

then painted the underarches

fitted the wheel spacers

and last picture i took all ready for arches to be fitted again

thanks, its something different thats for sure.
well i have touched the old girl up and black gloss painted the extra body panels, shes far from perfect just tidyed up a little for now bearing in mind im no painter or body panels man, i may get it repainted in white im not sure yet, just tidyed up rough for now so i can use it a little as soon as the dry weather is here.
im am happy with how she looks its come together well imo considereing the budget.
its very dirty/dusty in the workshop and the car is filthy and desperately needs a wash and polish but i wont do that til its abit warmer, but took a few pics anyways.

stunning project, only thing i would do is have the chrome window and front grill/light trims black with maybe some crosshair headlights, especially if the paintwork ends up white

looks really well though keep up the good work

im looking out for some sideskirts if they ever did any for these, i could just aerosol black them and cover the sills then for know.

Really cool project!

I've got to say (although its not my project so i shouldn't really!) The back lights and spoiler really spoil the car for me. I also hate wing mounted mirrors (got them on my viva), bullet mirrors on the doors always looks much better to me.

I know its a different car, but those rear ends look epic! Spoilers and lights. I think I have seen similar spoilers on some old Z cars that would probably be similar shapes/sizes etc.

Have you though about going to a sheet metal place? If you do like the above arse end, i think a sheet place could make up something like very well.

I'll have a think, but im sure i've seen a few classic cars with rear lights as above, perhaps use a combo of cars back lights to get the different sizes?

Any way, its looking good keep it up!

there was a turbo 2.0 but they aonly make about the same power / torque as my 2.4 anyways.

Rob,
its ok mate its a good job we dont all like the same stuff the world would be a boring place then. i do prefer the proper rear lights but the price is just ridiculous and im happy with the leds.

i think the blocks are the same or very similar and even use the same mounts, the l series will provide plenty of power though for what i want it for.

not yet mate since the last pics i drove it up the road and the front right wheel just caught the arch on full lock
its ok it put a 1" crack in it so ive repositioned it slightly and it clears now, but all the arch trims need painting again as i didnt primer them and the paint has cracked
its currently sheeted up in my clean storage workshop along with the r32 gtr.
ive been busy with the chevy kit car which is now very close to an mot lol
and the r33 gtr is now up and running again.

tbh i want a ford now aswell, i had thought about selling the classic skyline but ive changed my mind im just gonna buy a classic ford aswell as keeping all the skylines
i am currently leading bidder on the turbo technics scorpio on ebay but im about at the max im willing to pay though.

when i get the urge though the c210 will be back round on the ramp for abit more fettling
