Today we started on the rear axle strengthening plate a coat of etching primer and then paint and laquar

its looking very nice. nephew just done same build but on mk1, well he is also not 100% finished yet..

Going to start to fit some heat proof matting to the inner wings and bulk head, what's the best stuff to use needs to be self addesive, seen a few different types anyone got any recommendations

We managed to get some samco hoses so today we trial fitted them and see if they where a good fit

Managed to get hold of a prop shaft for the cossie engine with t5 to Capri back axle off ebay, fitted it looks spot on saves us having one made

Si,how much room is there between the prop uj and the output seal?

Just remember as the axle moves up the prop moves forward.

There is a bit of room in the prop will have a measure up
The cooler is a combo we got with the radiator mk2 specific

We finished the downpipe so next was the centre section 3" stainless system all welded hasn't come out too bad

Welded the step down on the back of the box tonight and trial fitted it, need to trim rear balance so it sits in nice and neat

Cut the rear valance for the tailpipe to sit in today needs finishing and a heat shield but u get the idear

So after looking at the rear end it was decided we needed to change the profile of the rear tyres so we could drop the car slightly and it would sit in the rear arches better, so we dropped them to 35 profile toyo proxys

So weve taken the axle off for its final paint and repositioned one of the brackets that we where not happy with, so we can make the brake pipes and put the strengthening plate on and refit and there it will stay hopefully

What rad and hoses have you used?
I'm putting a mk1 together for someone cosworth n/a and need to sort a rad and hoses, looked at the group 4 ones at burtons but it says for SOHC pinto?

The rad and intercooler was a combo its the same as the airtec ones
we can use some of the standard 2wd cosworth hoses but there a few we may have to modify or make some up

Got the strengthening plate on tonight and the new diff cover and some brackets for the brake pipes
Just waiting for the stainless brake pipes that are being made to go across the axle
