Back on the loom today not far off now, with the waisted spark in it aswell

 

Back o the car today after a xmas break we got the loom finished and also mounted the brake reservoir tank, just need to polish it up now

 

Got both the header tank and the brake res fitted up also the ignition pack mounted
Loom finished just tanks to polish up

Where did you get the braiding for the loom?

And the rubber finishes for the ends of the plugs ? The injector plugs etc I think ?

 

You can buy the plugs and rubber boots off ebay fela and the braiding aswell, brand hatch performance do most of it aswell

 

Today we started to fit the handbrake cable and the mountings for the adjuster brackets, the cable is off the cossie with it having the 2wd rear caliper setup.
need to weld some mounting brackets onto the axle brackets to secure the cable in place will get some pics up tomorrow

 

New fittings for the vac pipes and breather pipe valve gone into the inlet manifold

 

So we decided to change the clutch for a helix 6 paddle same as whats in my 3dr so it will cope with the power ok with no issue, got it from matt lewis again and fitted it today




Also decided to go hydraulic clutch aswell, but as we already have a peddle box we are converting it so it will take the hydraulic version

as it is now


and with the new piece fabricated and ready to weld on



Get this welded on then we have to modify the peddle aswell

The head looks really close to the bulkhead, is there room for engine movement?

 

Yes there's a bit of room but the engine is on rock solid mounts so cant move much anyway fela

 

Got the peddle box welded up tonight still needs painting and tidying up but looking good








Next is the new nose for the gearbox and fitting the new bottle for the fluid

 

Put some heat reflective matting in the engine bay last night

 

Made a plate for the bulk head where the pipes will pass through into the engine bay for the brakes and the clutch

 

Them pipes are a good idea.

 

Cracking project. What size master cylinders are you using for the front, rear and clutch?

 

We have decided to get a new brake res with 3 pots so it will have one for the hydraulic clutch aswell so the other one is for sale on ebay

front 0.65
rear 0.7
clutch 0.7

 

Now we have changed the brake reservoir for a 3 pot one to accommodate the hydrolic clutch we fitted the bulk head plate and made the pipes up
We're very happy think it looks pretty good sorted fela far
