Cheers matey! The V6 airbox is a cracking upgrade that was all ready on the car - it is just as effective as the CDA but at a fraction of the price

More progress;

H&R rear suspension fitted, strut brace for my camera mount, cables tidied up and it looks alot better;

Hoping to book a day on track next month to give the car its first proper shakedown

Got a new gearbox bracket sorted as mine has a hairline crack through it and also got a mount as well as the rubber has gone soft on mine as well.

Another thing I am starting to play with is Carbon fibre and just recieved my first kit to try it on a few clio parts.

When I change the brake lines I have some lovely new brake fluid as well;

The exhaust was a mix match but I loved it;

Magnex 3" downpipe
Dreamscience 3" decat
Piper 3" catback

Cheers for the comments - will even have another update in the next few minutes all being well.

Well today had the day at MB Motorsport with Mich, Frankie and Mark who work there.

Got all the jobs I wanted done as well.

First up was fitted the Clio 182 4-2-1 manifold, Ktec link pipe, all new gaskets and hangers. The spring and bolt arrangement between the link pipe and manifold didnt seem as secure as we would have liked so 2 spacers were machined in order to compress the springs more and give a more secure fit.

This had the subframe dropped down to aid access and also meant the gearbox linkage needed dropping. The front bush in the linkage was completely trashed - step in Mich on the lathe and a new steel insert so now have a lovely crisp movement with no worrying about the bush perishing.

Once rebuilt the exhaust was aligned and secured and now is 100% better than it was before.

I also fitted my new cup spoiler;

Bought some inlets which have had some porting done and just needs finishing off;

Also called into Motoscope for a power run to give me an idea of what I am working with, Rich commented on how smooth and strong the engine felt. The fans on this rolling road are enormous in comparison to most rolling roads as well so keeps the cars temperature controlled lovely.

Got a result of 189bhp and 157Ib/ft

Performance mods are;

- 182 4-2-1 manifold
- Ktec decat link pipe
- Janspeed cat back system
- V6 airbox on smooth angle hose
- Pipercross filter

On uploading a video now of the runs on the rolling road

Focus is gone haha - sold it a month ago or there abouts. Went as a standard car and I sold all the parts off seperately.

It is good quality 4 gauge cable and is more than upto the job for the battery. It can be used for car amp cable but is equally at home for this job.

It looks like car amp wire lol and im pritty sure amp wire is 4 gauge lol.

You mind tell me how you wired it in?
what i was going to do was wire in the cable from front to back fit a 2 way joiner box but dont know what to do about the engine bay ground lol.

Had the ST just short of 3 years and fancied a change. Miss the straight line speed but Clio should get to a level above that anyway.

I actually thought about keeping it standard and giving it to the girlfriend but I had the Clio the Focus and the everyday new Micra as well so thought I would sell up.

I put a remote positive terminal in the engine bay - this keeps all the positive wiring safe and seperate from the elements as well as giving a jump start post as well in the engine bay. The engine bay ground was already down to the body and a lead going from there to the battery.

When the battery was moved into the boot the earth was mounted to a secure unpainted mount and had no issues with it

BMW do them for some models - second hand they can be had for as little as £5

They only seem to do remote positive terminals though

Well got an oil collector pot fitted. Unfortunately the paintjob looked nothing like the pic so rubbed it down and repainted it. I mounted it in its current position for quickness but will need to orientate it 90 degree once another location tab has been welded on.

Yeah possibly a map but need to decide if adding cams from my mates engine he is breaking. It needs the belts and dephaser pulley doing so will decide on cams then and then the mapping to match.

Decided I want to buy a house in the next year or 2 so spends are on a minimum until the house is sorted.

Small update

I started painting the exterior plastics Satin black - did the rear bumper insert along with fog surrounds and both upper and lower grills.

Hopefully will have Carbon fibre dash strips on tomorrow as well as missed the delivery today.

Unfortunately I managed to kiss a kerb with my newly refurbished Turini on the passenger side front - this has been touched in for now but will be sending the wheel back to be refurbed again.

The gearbox has developed a leak and a whine but will be sorting this with a fully refurbished box with uprated clutch and a new passenger driveshaft to match the new drivers side.

Still need to do the exhaust surround until I square up the exhaust and fit the carbon surround.

Picked up a set of Williams alloy wheels with some 195/55/15 tyres on. These rims will be getting the R888's on and the Pro Race 2 alloys will be getting the Michelin P2B wets on as I much prefer the Gold track alloys.

They aren't kerbed but could do with a repaint as some is flaking slightly. Bonus is the tyres they came with will go on the Ford Ka I got the girlfriend.

As they were picked up from the scrapyard;

Were to cheap to pass on the wheels so got them - where can you get A048 for that price used?

Was looking at second hand R888 but even those seem quite expensive. Got 1 set of part worn R888 anyway so should be good for 2-3 trackdays

Some contact one of my friends has, he buys them in bulk from race series.
You have too many sets of wheels , trade you one set of 15's for some seats

Got my Whiteline adjustable RARB through this week and painted it all up as was looking a bit tired.

Painted it Ford Moondust silver with red bush hangers, black spacers and silver axle clamps. Some touchups will be required on the axle clamps as marked them during fitting.

Views: 324

And fitted, ignore the mud splashes as it needs a full underbody clean. Since these pics were taken I have started on the rear with snowfoam and pressure washer;

Tomorrow will be engine clean along with interior and hopefully my selector seal kit should be ready
