Right made more progress this weekend. got my brother to weld some cage plates into the fiesta today. we managed to get the rear plates and main hoop plates welded in with just the front to do.
i think the welding is awesome, sorry about the bad quality pictures.

Havent update this in a while but alot has gone on with the fiesta.
After getting 3/4s of the way around nightmare road rally i lost the car on ice and went sideways into a gate post the damage was a bent track rod and some body work damage.
However i got this all fixed with a couple of weeks and got the car ready for Moytis rally on Salisbury plain.
All went well on Moytis and we manage 7th out of 11 in our class and was 24th out of 45th overall which i felt was a good result and was just happy to finish.
Any way before Nightmare i managed to get hold of some Hella 3000s which i got wired in.
managed to get some pictures from moytis rally

Love the action shots
Are you keeping it as a road event car (see at the minute you don't have an interior)?

will put the rear seats etc in for the event. Couldn't be bothered to put it all back in while the paint was fresh as well.

The barbra Carter road rally which is around Exmouth. I have been told its a rough one so might have to step things up abit in terms of unde rbody protection.

Cool, how much under body protection do you have at the minute? I'd look at getting the exhaust system skidded and if you can, run all the lines through the car to protect them (you probably already know all of this)

Have a sump guard and a tank guard at the momen. fuel lines and brake lines are still under the car but have them protected as well.
fuel lines and brakes lines in the car is defo something i want to do eventually.

Cool, they'll look good on it, I've heard zetec s wheels are on the fragile side.

So are the events up your way plot and bash or pre plot? Here in Wales its pre plot, and most events are in the 90-120 miles sort or region.

The nightmare rally and moytis rally which are the last two I have done have been pre plotted maps with selectives in them aswell I think nightmare rally was 130 road miles with 15 forest miles. Moytis was also 130 miles. The 12 car rally's I do have a mixture of plot and bash and pre plot. It's all good fun.

small update.
Got my new wheels nuts as the original wheel nuts didnt fit properly.
Thought i would show you the tyres i use for rallying.
There made by a company called sportway tyres.
They basically have an aggressive road tyre pattern with with sort thread like a gravel tyre, they also have strengthened sidewalls so they don't puncture easy on white lanes or gravel sections
they are 175 65 14 so it took some getting use to for a 195 50 15 but they grip fairly wheel.
And use tank tape to stop your wheel weights falling off. Works for me!!
