custom idle control valve advice/opinions needed please (N/A 2.0 zetec build)
im building a 2.0 zetec blacktop engine (hoping for 170-180hp) to go into my mk3 fiesta, i have decided to use the HO manifold from an rs1800 and couple that with an st170 throttle body as its 11mm bigger, im going to get a plate made to mount the body and machine out the excess 11mm, my problem is that the air flow hole for the icv in the st170 body is on the opposite side and it also has no channel cut into it to connect to the ho's standard icv entry. (if your with me?)
i have thought of 2 solutions but im unsure if either will work;
solution 1.
get an additional channel cut into the mounting plate im getting made, wich would connect the the standard inlet idle control valve hole to the standard slot in the st170 body
solution 2.
I have seen remote idle control valves (off cosworths i think?) fitted to zetec turbo builds, i could blank off the icv on the manifold and fit a remote one instead, but im unsure if it would work on a normally aspirated engine and im unsure wich valve i need.
im unsure as to wich route i should go and im also unsure if either of my solutions will work? so if you understand my rubbish explanation of the problem i have hit, i could do with some help please....
all opinions count and will be much appreciated
(i will upload some pics to try help you understand)
thanks for taking the time to read
